Still No Power

Yesterday I got a hot shower in the women's locker room at school. My friend the coach locked me in there so I'd have privacy.

Then I stopped at a roadside stand for dinner (raw corn and tomatoes).

I have no dehydrator, no food processor, no blender, so I've gone to simple, simple, simple. Maybe that's how I should eat anyway. I chop and blend and dehydrate and prepare food and half the time I don't like what I've worked so hard to make.

Anyway, I also got a bunch of apples. They look organic but when I was washing them they felt very waxy. I scrubbed and scrubbed. Don't know why that wax would be there on organic apples.

A neighbor five miles away got her electricity back last night, so maybe we'll have ours back soon. I'm going to try to continue the more simple eating for awhile anyway.

    I enjoy simple eating more myself. I do like making raw deserts, though. Anyway, seems my body likes more simple foods and I do better that way, myself. I sure hope you get your power soon. That's difficult.

    I'm glad you are able to post, anyway! It's good to keep up with what's going on with you. I really understand the frustration. Often when our power goes out, the people across the street still have theirs. We're on different circuits or something (Mr.Liza is an electrical engineer and he has explained this to me, but that doesn't mean I retain much!). I just hate seeing those lights on after awhile. Grrr. Well, you have a much more mature response! I hope yours comes back asap! I am visualizing it for you!

    Simple! How wonderful. Hardship of any kind always seems to teach us something. Having the power off (when it's not to cold out), can be peaceful, but it's always a relief when it comes back. I've noticed the apples I pick (from my neighbor's tree) feel waxy, but it doesn't peel or flake off like the wax on store bought apples. If organic apples are waxed, it must be beeswax? Curious...

    Yeah, I wonder about those apples, but they are good! I'm going to continue with simple raw for awhile and hope I don't get bored...
