Yessss! I did it! They tasted fantastic! Here is the thread I put the recipe and pictures in! I am so psyched! The are so close to the real thing! Wow!
We had a wonderful visit with one of our friends. We walked through her garden eating raspberries, italian plums and asian pears. She shared a bunch of apples with us, that she had just picked yesterday.
We ended our visit by going to the river, where alongside the edge beautiful wild blackberries grow! I picked a bucket and the kids ate their fill.
Now I need to find somebody who has made raw jam before ...... jam that will last a few weeks at least, preferably a few months.
I made stuffed mushrooms when I got home. I stuffed them with leftover quiche filling. Oh so good! That quiche filling is just to live for!
I actually layed down and took a semi nap, while Cora was taking a nap. Semi nap, because one really can not sleep deeply, when a 5 year old is still talking to you occasionally, lol
But it was restful regardless. I harvested a whole bowl full of pickling cucumbers today! Boy they sure grow fast. My tomatoes are finally ripening as well. Two large ones are almost there! Couple more days. I also planted a few fall veggies a couple of days ago. My first time ever growing broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and some lettuces. We'll see, if they turn out.
Had a green smoothie for dinner, after taking a two day break from them, or was it three? Anyways, it seemed like I had more cravings for sad food today, so I made sure to have my green smoothie. And I really do already feel better!
