This morning I awoke to find that our governor, Sarah Palin, has been selected to run as John McCain's vice presidential running mate. She is a great choice! I have met with her a couple times, once when my husband and I went to Nenana a couple weeks ago. She has extremely high ethics which I know is sadly missing in many politicians. I first met her at a town meeting a few weeks before she became governor. She made an impressive first impression!
Her husband works on the North Slope with an oil company and is a commercial fisherman during the summer. His grandmother is a nice Eskimo lady too, so she is not a person with bias against non-whites either.
She recently had another baby so now she has five kids. The baby was born with Downs Syndrome, which they knew before he was born, yet chose to bring him to term and raise him themselves! I think that is commendable too.
She has an impressive approval rating of nearly 90% which is pretty much unheard of as well.
If you are undecided about who to vote for I would suggest Sarah and McCain.
