Raw Cooking-Day 40

Rate this Entry
Good afternoon!
Been a busy day and I feel sooooo much better now that I'm starting to get this enormous appetite under control. The hormone balancer seems to be working nicely and so do those brain sharpeners. I do have some episodes where I'm just starving and my stomach is full. I feel dizzy and almost sick. There is a lot going on upstairs that needs to be straightened out. Haven't been near as hungry today-I actually made it almost 5 hours w/out eating anything. This is an accomplisment! I realized that eating SAD leaves you full for almost 4-5-6 hours because of all the fats and preservatives. Raw is sooo different. Almost every 2 hours I eat some days because of the lack of fats and preservatives. Gosh! It's been a chore to drag food around. Wish there were more raw food snack places and restaurants. Hubby is mowing the yard and I'm rawcooking. I've got nuts soaking and drying and I'm getting ready to make ranch dressing and rawritos to put in the dehydrator for tomorrow. My body is kind of saying "I want something more-not too heavy on the spices though" Been craving corn lately in those tortillas and chips. I've searched this forum and found some yummy recipes. I'm learning how this rawcooking works. I've discovered that I can make flax crackers by using flax seeds and whatever I want to put in it. I've been kind of craving spinach and cornchips. I thought spinach might be good mixed into corn tortillas. I am going to give this ranch dressing a whirl again. I did the egg salad again and it was so much better 2nd time around. We will try ranch again. A tidbit of wisdom: I try not to think that the recipe will taste just like something from SAD. I look at the ingredients and see if its what I like and give it a try. We are disappointed when it doesn't taste like the old SAD. Taste buds do change and some of the recipes kind of grow on you. When I went raw I decided not to try to re-create all of my fav junk foods-(mashed potatoes, cheese on everything, cheeseburgers, meatloaf, Taco Bell) just not sure how some of that would taste. I've just learned to give it up and realize that my body loves raw and the old person still wants that junk. It takes time to re-train the brain. I can already smell the rawritos!!!!

I ate:
*superfoods, orange, stawberries, banana
*green smoothie-kale, superfoods, 2 bananas, avocado,
*2 walnuts and a banana
*juice- carrots, celery, cucumber, grapes
*ranch dressing and cucumbers(maybe)

Love the rawritos! I made a double batch this week - my bf loves them (he is the opposite of RAW!). I add habenero pepper flakes to mine - they are spicy - so I don't eat to many of them - like a built in portion control - . I have yet to find a ranch dressing I like - I make my dressing with a splash of good olive oil, juice from 1/2 small lemon, splash of sesame oil, splash of bragg's aminos, & 1 clove of garlic - it has an asian taste to me - love it! What ranch recipe are you using?

I used the one I found on here. Made it the first time and it was yucky. Made it again and blended it longer(nice and creamy) Tasty! My taste buds have changed since that first time.

Wow! way to go on reaching 40 days! Can't wait till I get there :) I really liked what you said about trying not to recreate your favorite meals...I completely agree that our tastebuds will change over time and to just enjoy new tastes.

Congratulations on 40 days! You are amazing! Yes, I found out, too, that one can't hope for something to taste just like the SAD version of it. But the tastebuds do change eventually.

You sound to be doing really great. I seem to eat more on Raw also........looking for the full feeling. WHat is Hormone Balancer. I'd be interesting in learning more about that since, I am Unbalanced myself.
