The food.

Let me start saying that I'm famous for my laziness. Specially in the kitchen. But I'm trying to have fun with the raw food, specially because I don't want to get bored, which could make me fall of the wagon.

I don't have that many ingredients. I even made a list of the recipes I'm interested to see if I can get some of the stuff. Also, I'm the only one eating raw here, so I don't want to spend a fortune with gourmet stuff because we still have to by SAD food for 2.

Still, I try to adapt, to make it fun. I miss not having a dehydrator more than anything, because I would love to heat the food a bit and make some crackers and bread for variety.

Here are just a couple of the things I did since my last "pic" entry:

Here is my 'veggie sashimi' plate. I made a version of Ponzu sauce (the one that usually comes with Tuna Tataki) and I couldn't believe that there was no fish on my plate! And was so full I couldn't even finish in one sitting! Later, I added the avocados directly in the sauce, and threw it all in a huge bed of greens (spinach and arugula). Oh, my! Yummy! http://flickr.com/photos/24927119@N05/2742006285/

Here is the zucchini "fettucini" resting a bit in room temperature. Later I salted the part I ate a bit to sweat more, but I'm not sure I will today. I'm still deciding... It took me a little while to cut it, but it was worth it! I think that the way the food looks plays a big role in how we enjoy the food (specially when dieting in a way that doesn't involve shoving in the throat with looking (my old SAD ways...). I used a veggie peeler and cut the strips with a knife. http://flickr.com/photos/24927119@N05/2742006555/

And here is what I call "Fettucini Francesca (You know, Alfredo's wife who got into raw" ;) ). I didn't have many of the famous recipes for Alfredo, so I look at the common thread on all the recipes and made a simpler version of them, with cashews as base. I'm still IN SHOCK of how much it tasted like the real thing!! And NO daily or flour!! I love it SO much, I already bough more cashews and I'm eating the rest of it tonight! This one tasted better than *many* real Alfredos I had in the past... seriously!

So, that's all for now...

Out to eat some walnuts... :)
