August - the 6th day
Barely having any cravings. 6th day. High raw day.
Had a green smoothie with oj, wtr, bananas, kale, a squeeze of lemon and first time veg: cherry tomatoes. My mother and sister like to put a lot of fruit and different vegetables in their smoothies. I like it to be more simple but thinking about increasing the vegetables or more of a variety. I don’t eat enough of either in a day. Another hurried morning because I started reading an interesting book and didn’t get out of the bed. Didn’t get to drink it slowly.
Put the rest into a glass in the frig. I usually don’t want to drink a left over smoothie when I get home. The last few days I have been. Could it be the container I’m using? This week I put it in a glass instead of a big white container.
For lunch I had the rest of the nut pate with onions, rbp and celery. I put mustard and mayo in it. It was good. Okay very good. Had the rest of the green smoothie I made the day before and left at work (1/4 left). I wish I had a collard to wrap it in. Want to find a raw spreading for my sandwiches. I made a honey mustard sauce but it didn’t satisfy.
Went to the gym. Spent 45 mins on the bike/elliptical. Nothing was on cable there that I liked otherwise I could have made it for an hour. Had one of my choc “not good” truffles before going to keep up my energy. Dropped by the store for some collards leaves. I was in such a daze that the cashier asked if I had a rough day. Nope. Needed food.
At home, dinner was celery with peanut butter and chocolate cashew ice cream with the choc “not good” truffles made on Sunday. It is good with the ice cream. The ice cream was not good without.
I need to try different ingredients to find the right tasting Great ice cream. Ah it looks good and creamy but the combination is not good. Going to eat it anyway.
Got my raw cacao powder in today and some dark choc truffles. Can’t wait to make candy and better choc truffles and such. Won’t do it until I finish what I previously made though. A fellow worker has said she wants to try the desserts I make even if they don’t taste that good. Seemed interested in the concept of raw desserts. She thought my “too sweet” sunflower power balls where good and the choc “ugh” truffles were good. Hummm. I let her taste them so she could see the difference when I make Better ones. The other worker I would only let try when it is very good. Her tastes are a little different. Kudos for her trying though. It’s a big step for her. Got her try one of my fruitier smoothies (with a couple of kale) early in the year.
The dark choc truffles I bought were not good. Even my fellow worker said so. They tasted like Bakers choc with a touch of sweetness. I’m going to have to reconfigure them. Make them sweeter. I had to get the taste out of my mouth. I decided to take a sip of coffee with sugar and creamer after tasting it. Coffee was only okay. Don’t know why I crave it sometimes. Habit? Love the smell of it. Luckily I’m not that hooked on it even though I drank 2-3 cups a day.
Tomorrow I plan on GS for breakfast. Maybe with carrot included. Lunch of butternut squash I have left, wrapped in a collard leaf with other veggies.
Now it’s time for me to look though the Raw Foods book that just came in from the library.
