A Bit Glum

Rate this Entry
DB stayed an extra day b/c a nephew of ours and his youngest daughter (10) said they were in the area visiting our oldest DB. Turns out Oldest DB didn't tell me they were here and he and SIL did their best to keep them from visiting. They have never treated me like family.

But I think my glum attitude right now is a S.A.D. reaction. I have experienced all the misery of S.A.D. and it's fresh in my memory so I can compare how I look and feel today with how I looked and felt 11 days ago, and how I will be looking and feeling 11 days from now.

My cousin in NY is more family to me than my oldest DB but b/c of my knee injury, I may have to cancel my upcoming visit. Oh well.

On the up side, it was great to see nephew and his daughter. It's been quite a while. The little girl had fun with my cats.

So this afternoon when all were gone, I reloaded the fridge with healthy, life-sustaining food, and this evening will be all raw. Bracing myself for Detox!

Seems like the oldest siblings are the most rigid. (Except for me, of course). Their loss. Glad your DB's visit ended on an upside. Maybe detox will be easier this time. Might even be an improvement over your reactions to S.A.D. Your body will welcome it back! I welcome you back!

Thanks, Rawknitster. The nice thing is, I came back with a plan, I have some ideas of the kinds of food I will enjoy the most, and tomorrow I will hit the ground running. I haven't been very hungry tonight with only raw veggies to eat, so that's a good sign.

It's unfortunate some people can be so rude & especially when they are related - I guess it makes me think maybe I'd rather not be in their company anyhow. The like minded people here are sometimes more like family to me. I hope your detox goes quickly - if at all - you never know - you may just feel great from the get go! I'm glad you stayed with us throughout the visit~

Just remember: you are not your feelings! What finally stuck for me was the thought that no matter what I'm going to feel pain...either from eating S.A.D or from raw detox. At least with raw, there is a happy ending, so to speak :p
