I just experienced one of the most challenging weeks that you could imagine. We were evacuated as I was getting ready to go to work. My daughter and I packed up the car with what we could grab and our three kitties, turned on the sprinklers and ran.
It took three hours to get down the only route left open. My daughter ended up sleeping at my work. All the motels and hotels were filled. I got the stomach flu so bad that It has taken me four days to pass. So much for working this week.
In the end, about 23000 acres burned around our little town. We are home safe and sound due to the wonderful firefighters.
Still to nausated to eat or drink much of anything. I don't have any appetite and I feel weak and am sleeping lots.
Thank God Our home was spared and most of the town.
