23 Days Raw, A Lifetime to Go

Rate this Entry
Feeling good today. Had an excellent raw weekend. My Sunday weigh in gave me a boast, 3 more pounds gone. I really needed that. Was concerned I might be eating to many fats. I used to gain a pound a week with my old S.A.D. eating habits. Those old, bad habits aren't just broken, they are dead and buried.

When someone says they want to lose 10 pounds, I think...been there, done that. I said that 3 decades ago, and I did lose that 10 lbs, more times than I can remember. Each time I lost weight, I gained it back, plus more. I can count calories, I know how to lose weight, but I never made the permanent changes required to free myself from my food addictions.

Some people can use a raw food diet to lose a little weight or to cleanse their system. That's wonderful. I have proved over and over, that for me, cooked foods are addictive. If I'm eating them, I don't stop. I tell myself I'll stop soon, but I don't. If I want to feel good, and stay healthy, I must be raw. There can be no cooked food for me, not one bite. Been there, done that. Too many times.

Congratulations on losing 3 lbs! This time they are gone for good.
Thanks for your insight--I've come to the same conclusion for myself. I have lost and regained, lost and regained, over and over. Once I start on the cooked food I can't stop eating it. Good luck on your journey. You are doing great!

Awesome job! I am the same way with cooked foods - it ends up snowballing into all cooked - barely any raw - I'm right here with you - not one cooked bite! We can do this & this time is THE time! ~

Haven't much time to write but I made a mental note of what you said about SAD food or cooked food being addictive. Maybe that is my problem too and I should stay away from all of it. And you are down another 3 lbs. Yippee.

RawKnitster, yes there were trees down all over town today - a huge mess and it was very windy all day and another storm is in the air right now. It is a little unnerving. What lovely things do you create with your string? My mum always had her hands busy knitting even when they were watching t.v. She still knits. That's one reason why she only weighs about 100 lbs. You are doing just great.:)
