Young Coconuts?

Rate this Entry
About 2 weeks ago I bought 4 young coconuts. In all 4 the water was pink! I threw them out because a Google search lead me to believe that they were bad.

I bought 5 more yesterday hoping they were good. The first one opened had pink water. This is becoming a trend.

Does the pink water mean that the coconut is bad? If so, I'm not going to buy anymore of these delicious treats.

I've had one pink coconut out of hundreds. The produce man told me not to use it, it's a type of mold that affects coconuts. Did you get yours at the same store? If not, it's still possible they all came from the same supplier. Don't throw them out, return them and get your money back, and demand some fresh ones. Keep them refrigerated and use within 2 weeks.
