DAY 3

Rate this Entry
I'm down 2.6 pounds! I was certain I had gained some weight because of all the avocados and salt yesterday. I didn't eat a lot of salt, but had more than I usually do. WOOT!

I need to take a before picture and post monthly pics.

Last night before bed, I made a pitcher of green smoothie. My DH usually takes a big glass of it to drink on his drive to work. He forgot his today! Looks like I'll be drinking the whole pitcher by myself. Thankfully it tastes great! 4 bananas, frozen blueberries, flax meal, spinach, agave and water.

I have to be accountable here, don't I? Well, I admitted to my friend, Shannon, that I still have coffee in the morning. I only drink half of a coffee mug, but I still have it. I'm nervous about giving it up totally just yet. I don't want to have to deal with the headache. I tired to give it up and I had a constant headache for a week and a half. After that I broke down and had just a little coffee to get rid of the headache. I know I'll be off of it in time.

Yesterday, even though I wasn't craving anything, I was wondering if I should allow myself one cooked meal a week. I would allow myself veggie pizza on Saturday's. I then told myself that would be self sabotage. I'm trying to change and allowing myself something like that would only cause me to revert in old ways. I'm here to change! And after remember how HORRIBLE I felt AND acted on Sunday after eating veggie fried rice, I just cannot do it.

It amazes me that eating something could cause such a horrible reaction in me. After eating the mentioned fried rice, I because tired and irritable. I fought with my DH and got annoyed with my kids. I cried and threw quite the temper tantrum. I never want to be that person again.

Does anyone have any advice for no longer drinking coffee? Tylenol just doesn't cut it for the pain I get. I usually have to take Tylenol AND a little caffeine to get rid of the caffeine withdrawal headache.

Hello allisonbb. I have the same problem with coffee although it only takes me about 3 days to get rid of the headache and I have to use Tylenol 1 (with codeine) to be able to endure the pain. I am back drinking the yummy stuff again. How foolish, as I was off it for a while. But I so love it in the a.m. when I do my reading. This post to be continued...........:)

IF you have no problems with cacao (like caffeine), then you can try this:
    Chocolate Smoothie by Rawkincake -
1c water, 2 frozen bananas, 1 heaping Tbsp. raw cacao powder, 1 Tbsp. coconut oil, 1 squeeze Agave or Stevia (optional), 1/2 tsp. vanilla (optional), 5 ice cubes. Blend! I love it and should try it again too instead of the poison. I have even added greens to this and it was still great.

Caffeine withdrawal periods can vary. But I'm not one to give advice about that, as I don't want to give it up just yet. My past experience with raw was that after several months I simply lost my desire for coffee. I'm hoping it happens that easily this time, too. Dr. Perricone says that just giving up coffee will release 10 pounds! Hope he's right.
