Day 14

Rate this Entry
Yes, if I make it through today I will have completed two weeks at 100% raw. That's the longest I've ever lasted.

Last night I tried out my new spiralizer and made angel hair pasta with marinara sauce. It was okay. Ironically, it looked so much like the cooked version that my eyes expected it to taste one way even though my brain knew what to expect.

Last night I was thinking that I should increase the greens in my diet, so I'm going to try for three smoothies a day instead of two and I'm going to put more greens in them. I know I need to rotate the type of greens to get full coverage of nutrients.

Years ago I lived in a ranch house that was right next to a ravine. My cat Rosie was a kitten then and she used to patrol the edge of the ravine. She would trot back and forth, never going into the ravine, but just looking at all the interesting things on the edge of the ravine. She did this by the hour, very happily.

I thought of that today as I was patrolling the produce section of the supermarket. I was very happily thinking about trying this or that--here's a rutabaga, I'll use it for chips and ravioli, etc. It was like a new world and I was content to be in that part of the supermarket (the edge of the ravine). Plenty to look at and do there.

Of course I was limping. I wonder if all my cartilege is gone from that knee. Well, I want to be one of the first to find out if cartilege can regenerate when one is on an all-raw diet (another reason to increase the greens).

I am not going to be a half-tattoo as in Starfire's analogy. I will be a complete and beautiful tattoo, perhaps a butterfly fully formed and ready to fly.

Nice attitude. I like the patrolling analogy. It makes me think about pulling back and observing a little more, instead of trying to "satify" myself with food, even if it's raw. It's a bad habit I need to work on. Thank's for the thoughtful post.
