Another one bites the dust...

yes, I am in good spirits today.
I weighed myself and have released another pound.
I know it's not a good idea to weigh everyday though, and
to focus too much on the weight aspect.
It's funny how that is so ingrained in our minds as a woman in this society;
how our weight reflects our happiness. Sad isn't it? I admit I fall prey
into that....I have it ingrained into my psyche from my mother dearest
and ALL the media.

So going beyond that, I am also so happy about how much better
I have been feeling all around. I'm just in a darn good mood.
I have no craving for coffee at all anymore! That's a first :)
Even when I was raw before, I still struggled with my cravings for java.
I do still drink alcohol on occasion, but it is greatly reduced, and the last couple of times I did have a couple glasses of wine I got a headache. That's still a slippery slope for me so I need to be careful.
My self-esteem is improving. And after the last 2 100% raw days (except for my morning tea), I feel more in touch with my body....observing....noticing that I can be satisfied with a lot less food than "I thought" I needed. I think my blood sugar gets whacked easily from carbs and alcohol and I feel famished and overeat.

As far as detox, my face is starting to clear up, but I am still getting some small white heads everyday. My headache's come and go.
I stopped drinking green tea for a few days, and I had this headache come and go all weekend. Then I added it back in and my headaches went away. So by body needs more time to wean from it I think. It's a process.

Gearing up for the weekend. Going to a cook-out on Sunday for Easter.
I've decided to bring Alissa's California salad and a big fruit tray to share.
Trying to come up with something else for myself to bring to eat too, so I won't be as tempted. Maybe Alissa's stuffed mushrooms or a raw strawberry cheesecake.

Day 18:
weight: 155 (down 9 lbs.)
what I ate:
white peach tea (not raw)
breakfast: fresh grapefruit juice w/E3 Live added
water & supplements
lunch: wild blueberry-hemp smoothie (yup addicted to these, yumm)
dinner: Large salad (ate out of a huge serving dish) consisting of:
mixed baby greens, sunflower sprouts, cherry grape tomatoes,
1/2 avocado, red bell peppers & strawberries.
Dressing made out of 1 squeezed orange, macadamian oil, ac vinegar, Himalayan sea salt and a squirt of
raw agave. yummy.
desert: 1 date, 3 raisins

**dinner was difficult to make it thru all raw, but my willpower prevailed this time around. I came home from taking the boys to their taekwondo lesson, and was quite hungry while I was warming up everyone else's dinner. It smelled so good.
My husband noticed and started helping chopping up my salad for me.
He was telling me over dinner how proud of me he was. So I just smelled their food, but didn't taste one morsal this time.

exercise: 50 min. elliptical cardio machine
free weights, arm curls

Congrats on losing another pound! I haven't weighed myself yet - will weigh in on Sunday.

Where is the raw restaurant near Plano? I live in (and LOVE) McKinney. My daughter is allergic to wheat, soy, milk, eggs, peanuts, cashews, almonds, both kinds of walnuts and brazilnuts...

also, how do you respond to a comment so it goes to the person? I'm still new to this site and sadly not very computer literate, I guess...

Tina, It is not a raw restaurant, just a restaurant that specializes in gluten free (no wheat, rye, & barley) and other allergies. If your interested I can give you the phone #. It is on Alma & Parker in Plano.
