First Two Days and Going Strong!
Thanks for the comments and encouragement guys!
Day One (May 14)
Weight: 137.4
Fruits and veggies only. Slight pain in jaw (I have very minor TMJ). Slight nausea all day, especially after drinking water. Resisted the urge to drink coffee to settle my stomach (by "re-toxifying") as usual. No great temptation to eat anything other than fruits and vegetables. The thought of cooked food, especially heavy grains, turns me off due to all of the reading I've done on it's effects. Thankful for this. Took my "before" photos this a.m. I like my face, but it sure looks old. Constant pain along the back of my legs all evening. Beginnings of cold/ flu symptoms, which abated after dinner. Mood and energy fairly high, mostly due I'm sure to my optimism over raw eating. Thankful husband didn't comment negatively on my huge meal of melons and grapes (we went to the buffet).
Day Two (May 15)
Weight: 136.4
All veggies and fruits, plus a little cold-pressed olive oil. Dreamed about raw food again ALL last night! Cold symptoms and nausea gone, but pains on back of my legs still there all day. Wonderful discovery today: a very very affordable supermarket a nice half-hour walk from my apartment! My greatest fear in starting raw, believe it or not, was the affordability and the availability of good produce near home (I don't drive). This answers both! Got five ears of corn for a dollar, eight oranges for a dollar, three grapefruits for a dollar, etc. Awesome! . . . Mood today high. More energy than yesterday. Two nice bm's today (I think my chronic constipation will definitely be the first thing healed by raw). . . For husband made fresh-squeezed OJ and a chopped salad with avocado and sour cream mixed in, served on red lettuce and topped with alfalfa sprouts. Orange slices on side. The most beautiful meal I've ever made, by far! Took a picture! :) Again, no temptations to eat anything besides my highly-valued fresh produce today. When I was young, it was a real treat to eat fruit, and I remember I loved vegetables as well. With this diet, I feel like I'm really treating myself with every luscious bite. . . Some anxiety today concerning weight loss, though. Hope it will occur quickly, though if it doesn't, I won't give up eating raw. My sister and I are planning a five-day water fast (my first) in early June, so this is a perfect way to prepare. P.S. Lots of hunger today. I've always been abnormally hungry, and this is another area of healing I'm hoping for.:) :) :)
