  1. Should I....????

by on 06-21-2011 at 03:54 PM (A Little of This; A Little of That)
So many times on forums I'm totally flabbergasted when people ask questions such as: "Should I eat a whole avocado or only half?" "Can I eat more than one banana a day?" "How much fresh, raw juice can I have a day?" "Can I have juice all day and then eat something at night?" "Can I have juice and smoothie in one day or should I just stick with juice?"

Just like the money issue in my last post, I have to ask, who is in charge ...
  2. Consider This ~ Food Prices

by on 06-15-2011 at 12:38 PM (A Little of This; A Little of That)
Recently I had a discussion with a friend about food prices. He was telling me he had fresh berries in the fridge yet, he was only eating a few at a time because they cost so much. Now, he lives where I do and shops where I shop (mostly) so, I know how much berries are. Recently they've been running between 99 cents to $2.99 depending on which and the size of the container.

I also know that he goes out for coffee (regular) and a loaf of white French bread almost every day ...
  3. Just Get Started ~

Do you find yourself having problems getting movement in every day? Well, here are a couple of suggestions ~

If you sit at a desk, set a timer for 55 minutes. When it rings, get up and do SOMETHING! When you sit back down, set the timer for another 55 minutes. If you work an 8 hour day, you'll have done at LEAST 30 minutes that day.

Suggestions ~ walk up and down stairs; get down on the floor and up again for 5 minutes; fast walk around the block; sit-ups; push-ups (if ...

I was compelled to write this before even going out the door for my walk this morning.

Recently there was a thread on this forum about raw and weight. So many begin eating raw to eliminate excess weight. I keep seeing people talk about exercise to eliminate weight.

Well, I'm here to say, y'all are coming at it from the wrong perspective.

When I first began eating raw about 14 years or so ago, I had no need/desire to eliminate weight. It happened. As a matter ...

  5. Changin' UP~ ... today, anyway...

by on 08-13-2009 at 09:55 AM (A Little of This; A Little of That)
Yesterday, got up about 4:45 and was out the door by 5 a.m. Had done 8,759 steps by 7:12 so, IF my focus was on 10,000 steps, wouldn't take much more. Didn't go out walking again yet, what I did at home brought me to 10,455. Shows me I don't sit as much as I sometimes think I do.

This morning, thought I'd change up. Fitness is not just about cardio. It's about strength, balance, flexibility as well. I've got all the dvd's yet, one of my favorites is Turbo Jam. Went down to the sun-room, ...
