  2. laying off the fats

    Okay, it's time for me to get back to eating simply. I had so many avocados & macadamia nuts in Hawaii, that I've been craving fats ever since. Everything I had on my trip was delicious, and I don't regret it or feel guilty about it. I'm just ready to go back to eating mostly salads and smoothies. My body feels so much better when I'm doing that.

    I'm also going to stop eating so late at night. I got back into old habits on our trip because it's hard to stick to a schedule ...

  3. Weaning off the coffee

    For a while there, I wouldn't think of having coffee. Agh! Then, slowly, but surely...two cups a day. I lied to myself by saying, "I use soy milk and organic sugar." Ridiculous I know, but it's what I do.

    This morning I woke and had my two cups of coffee, but with NO sugar and maybe a drizzle of the soy milk. I'm going to try this week and finish off this last bag of starbucks....moving to completely black, one cup...1/2 cup...then none again.

  4. What dreams do I want to come true in my 30's? (AKA: Day 108)

    Lately things in my life have been unfolding like a delicate piece of origami. There are patterns on the page that I didn't know were there and creases in places I don't yet understand. I like that. It's kind of mysterious and exhilarating getting to know oneself on a deeper level.

    Since I turned 30 last Friday I've taken a bit ribbing about life being over, getting old and it all being downhill from here. I'm taking it all in stride because I know it's meant in jest but, well, ...

    Today's Choices:

    Smoothie: 1/2 water and meat of white coconut, banana, strawberries

    Juice: fennel with tops, carrots, parsley, celery, cucumber

    Dinner: Green Smoothie; chard, banana, orange, blood orange, strawberries

    That's all.

    I showed those nuts who was boss tonight. I pulled nuts out of the bags to feed the rat about 9:00. No problem being tempted to eat them this time because I had just finished 24 oz of green ...
