  1. September 2: Doing Fine

Today, at 6:15pm, my car thermometer read 106 degrees. Apparently, I am living in an Excalibur dehydrator. I now know how Onion bread feels.

Today was the second day of my 30-day challenge, and I have no complaints! I seem to do quite well until day 4/5, so if this remains true Wednesday-Thursday may be rough days. MIL came over today and thumbed through my Rawvolution book. She thought many of the recipes looked delicious. She did suggest this was another one of my fads, but ...

  2. The Challenge Begins

Yesterday, September 1 was my first day of the challenge. I began with a 24 hour fast using the 7 day detox program from www.therawdivas.com. So, I am on the detox right now which I am only allowed to eat fruit and/or green smoothies, fresh salads with no dressing/condiments, no nuts or other fats, and raw veggie sticks, etc. I had my salad this evening to break my fast, but had to follow it with a carrot pecan burger. I ate all fruit and coconut/oil today. i had a whole banana coconut cream pie for lunch and it really didn't make me feel bloated at all. i was just satisfied for pretty much the rest of the day. the only neg. i felt today was maybe a bit of a sugar crash into the evening. im thinking of eating more nordic fruits instead of the high sugar tropical/exotic ones. i wont give them up bc i love them and they are good for me but they're a plenty of less intense fruits to enjoy like pears, apples, berries, ...

  4. Like Michelle Kwan

    NOT!

Ok, it's been over 10 years since I dug my rusty ol' ice skates out of the closet. I had to dig way down...past the suzanne somers thighmaster, the pocket fisherman, and bedazzler! ;) And yes my skates were rusty.
So I had them sharpened. I'm thinking that if I don't go skating again, at least I can use them to slice and dice onions and tomatoes in the kitchen...they're sharp!

But we had a nice time, despite being wobbly. (and all the screaming ...

  5. "Sicko"

Just watched the movie "Sicko" by Michael Moore today - absolutely fantastic.

Felt that it needs to go further though - not only do the greedy insurance and pharmaceuticals bleed us dry by treating symptoms, they refuse to explore the causes of disease so that we could stop making ourselves sick - that would just not be as profitable for them.

Things need to change! Being raw makes me feel that I am at the forefront of a movement that explores being healthy ...
