  1. I bought new clothes

Yesterday, Vern and I drove to Anchorage. We shopped at Sears and I had not been there for several years. Since I have been eating raw foods, my usual clothes had gotten just a bit too big and I wanted and needed to get some that fit better. Besides, I wanted to get regular length skirts or dresses because I just don't feel the need to cover up so thoroughly any more. I did not try things on before I bought them because it is so difficult with the brace and I was using the store's wheelchair. ...

  2. Thursday, June 19, 2008-First Raw Day!

    Hello raw food journal!
Woohoo! I do feel better today. I went to see Doc Spence and he gave me some hemp seeds and they really help to sustain me. I feel more energized and not as tired. He upped my superfoods to 6x a day. Whew! I have already had three. Got a letter from the courts over my credit card bill so I am a tad gloomy. Not too bad though. May take a nap in a little while because I am some tired. I have energy but I am tired. I THINK THIS WAS MY FIRST DAY RAW!!!! YEA!!! I had ...

  3. Back from the rabbit hole

Okay kids, so I spent about 11 days deep down in the rabbit hole of cooked food. I was in a very dark place emotionally, and I'll be honest, that cooked food was the only thing that kept me from bursting into tears all day every day. BUT--the situation I was so upset about hasn't changed, but after just two days back on raw, my mood is sunny again.

Here's what I learned from the experience: 1. Not getting enough sleep sends me right into cooked food. It's ridiculous. So I need ...

  4. Going away for vacations

I have travelled for a while and organized few things. I have been in San Francisco and Oregon in New York, Buffalo and Warsaw. I had great time resting and meditating on the west coast and reconnecting with my roots on the east hemisphere. I am an artist and that is all to it - being vegan, living in harmony with nature and eating fresh fruits and veggies is essential for me being an artist, everything else is just uncivilised. I have my days of sadness and great pain i have my days of cheer and ...

  5. Making some progress

The visit continues. DB is high maintenance, which is why I haven't had much time or space to blog. We did have a breakthrough yesterday. He admitted that being so fat that you can't walk is a hindrance and he seems to be getting motivated to look after his health. We set a goal for him, for one year.

I couldn't get him interested in raw, unfortunately. However, by the next visit (late October) I will have been raw for 3-1/2 months in a row, and I should be looking and feeling ...
