Your not alone with the popping in your mouth bite-size hand to mouth food. For some reason I have become a bit of a snacker and that really helps.

I too am working on getting back on track. We can do this together!

That is exactly why I'm starting back down this raw journey...for me. :) Thank you. Thanks for posting in the other thread as well!

Have you read Gabriel Cousins "Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine"?

    :)

Motivate yourself by remembering who you're doing this for: YOURSELF... because an unhealthy diet is the ticket to a crappy old age.

But living foods are the path to a WHOLE life! :)

Very strong start. I posted in your motivational thread. Lots of good ideas there. Keep it up! You can do it! :)

Zaphirah, This is so true. I told my hubby, the biggest reason raw works for me...so very well I might add...is that I don't govern how much I eat. If I'm hungry (even emotionally) I eat. Because it's raw, my body can actually cope with the amounts. Sad, but true. I did better yesterday and will keep pressing on, it is such a journey. ;) I too am going to try my best to afford it.
Rawlight, thank you for your inspirational words. They were very soothing to read first thing in the morning.

You have to start where you are and you have such a strong consciousness of what you want and need to do right now. This is a great plan for starting back on your raw journey. I try to practice NOT living in the future. Be happy with the care you are doing for yourself right NOW. Live in the present and don't stress about the future!

oh my dear friend. we are in this together. I too had to fight the urge to make coffee this morning. I have no idea how I am going to afford raw this time around, but I am determined to try. I really started thinking about it-and in my case, I eat WAY too much-even on raw. That's why it is so expensive. If I ate more reasonable portions I could probably afford it with no prob, ya know?

I love it when that happens too!
I can hear the motivation and enthusiasm in your words and it's contagious, so thank you :)

I had a big shift when I finally stopped buying Ezekiel bread. I used to keep it at home "just in case," but I would end up having it all the time.

I don't live very far from the store, so I started telling myself that if it was important enough that I HAD to have it - then, I could make the trip to the store at that time. Not once since then have I had an urge to go buy it.

When I see it at the store, I still eye it longingly - but not once have I been at home and needed it so badly that it would be worth taking a special trip to the store just to buy it.

    Good luck!

I couldn't agree more you guys. ;) Tomorrow I will try for a bit more raw and extra exercise, but today was a nice day.

I totally agree. There is only one right way to do raw: the way that's right for you!

Besides stressing out about all of this kind of moots the whole point, in my opinion.

I think it's great that you have a flexible mindset! There is no reason a certain percentage needs to be carved in stone.

At our local health food store they sell unsweetened carob chips. They are not 100% raw as they have a small amount of soy in them as a binding agent. When I say small amount...they almost crumble upon contact. Anyway, I do the best I can based on what I can afford. You could make them with the powdered version that Alissa sells in her store. ;)

I am doing alright. Sunday and Monday were pretty good. Mostly raw with a few cooked meals. I am completely addicted to clementines my son and I can polish off a case in a matter of days.

You recipe looks so easy. I do have a question about the carob, where do you find it? Is it in powered form?
  18. ShelShel's Avatar
Equal parts: carob/walnuts and about 5 or 6 medjool dates. Blend the nuts into pounder first in the food processor. Add in the carob and dates. It comes out like a sticky dough. Press it into a pan or square bowl (what I use) and put it in the fridge to set. Cut with a knife into squares. Yummmmm. I just had my second one. Enjoy!
Nayeli, how are you doing so far this week?

Nayeli, how did your first day go? I'll have to check out your blog. I feel great and did great. I'm going to go crawl in bed and read a good book. :) Have a great evening.
