    DAY 32

    Well, we did it! We have successfully made a MAJOR life style change to help our health problems (esp. MY health problems) and we are feeling PHENOMINAL!

    For those who don’t know…we decided to take the holistic approach to healing and go with the raw vegan lifestyle to help heal all my health problems because I did not want to take the pharmaceutical approach.

    In just the 31 days of the month of January, Mike has lost 12lbs and I have lost 13lbs! ...

    Well, we are just totally in the groove of this whole thing. It was my fear of how hard this would be that kept me from committing long term to this before...and now that fear (as most fears usually are) was unfounded.

    All is well on the home front! Not a whole lot to report today...it is so weird how in just a little over three weeks you can totally get in the groove of a new lifestyle. I thought is would take 6 months to wrap our minds around such a huge change but it is way easier than I thought. Once you set your mind to it, and you are just fed up with the way your health is going, you get to a point where you are really ready to make changes and it is totally do-able.     The world did not come to an end when we ate cooked food last night. *whew* LOL.

    So yesterday was our first day doing the whole 85/15 thing.

    I was a little worried that when it came time for dinner we might have the urge to really pig out because I had Lentil Stew brewing in the crock-pot all day and the whole house smelled so warm and homey.

    Our plan is to always do freshly juiced veggies and drink it prior to the cooked portion of the dinner. ...

    Well after 19 days of raw (or rather 17) my husband has lost 11 lbs and I have lost 9 lbs. We decided to weigh ourselves this morning and we also made the decision to work the plan the HACRES way...which is 85% raw and 15% cooked (vegan)...with still no sugar, GMOs, white flour etc...all that.

    We talked about this for a couple days and decided it would be much better for us to do this than to just eventually get frustrated and go eat at a restaurant or eat junk. We set parameters ...
