I will have been doing this for 2 weeks on Saturday....lost 9 lbs the first week! Don't know how that translates to metric, but it's a lot! I'm sure it will slow down soon...

A pound a day for the first week or two could be considered normal. :)

Hope and a positive attitude counts for so much in life. You just hang on to this girl! On the other hand, showing compassion and empathy for depressed people is also very important if it helps them. Some have to do their own thing and continue to wallow in self-pity. Maybe they will change but only they can do it. btw, quite the poet you are!

Hello snoops... I love snoopy :)

I know but... I work in a hotel... with set times for meals.. which are (9:30 am, 2:30 pm, 9:30 pm) and no big variety in fruits or veggies.

I live in a hotel room with no fridge

and I think 9:30 is too late to eat.. so I end up eating twice aday... in which I get full pretty fast.

However I think today I did better.

    thanks for your concern

You have to eat more than that - you know that don't you??

    Good for you. :)

Purging is hard on your body. The acids from your stomach will thin the lining of your esphogus and can cause, bleeding, infection, and even cancer - it will also eat away the enamel on your teeth and you will spend a small fortune attempting to save your once nice teeth. Believe me, this is experience talking.

Yes, if you can stop it would be a very good thing for your health body and spirit.

    Blessings,
    Jen

I read Shazzie's story, her site recharged my motivation!

    Dodo, lovely lady,

Remember... raw food is about ABUNDANCE and FREEDOM....!!

I would say DO NOT regulate your food... eat as MUCH as you please right now, as your body transitions from all that cooked meat and food into fresh, living, beautiful foods.

Also, here is another beautiful woman who, like you, was faced with some pretty serious social constraints on her desire to go raw:

    Shazzie's Story

BE ENCOURAGED, Dodo Darling, you are NOT alone!!

    *hug*

Also, do NOT EVER beat yourself up for eating some cooked foods or meat... simply keep moving FORWARD. You can NOT go back, so why waste any of your precious time being sad about the past? Move FORWARD and keep your head up. The sky really is more beautiful than the ground, anyway. ;)

I havent' thrown up voluntarily in almost 14 years. But, I still get thoughts of it. I finally stopped when I was afraid my kids were going to find me dead with food lodged in my throat or that I was going to get throat cancer.
I know for me anytime I binge or want purge - it's emotional whether I'm aware of what I'm emotional about or not.
Hang in there. It's so hard being the weirdo in the family. I know. But, follow your Heart and what your Heart and Body want.
Many Blessings to you in this difficult time.

Aw, I'm sorry sweetie! try to stay strong and make decisions for yourself rather than to please others. Family gatherings are definitely rough - I wish we all lived in veggie friendly families.

Glad you were able to sprout things - they are very filling and good for you too.

Can you fit in some exercise today? That always helps me w/ headaches. It's hard to get the motivation to go, but I always feel better afterwards.

There are some REALLY wonderful cheese recipes available in the raw... I'm also a cheese-lover, although now knowing more about what cheese does to your insides, I NEVER want to eat the dairy-cheese! It makes me sick thinking about it.

    However, RAW CHEESES are delicious!

Here is my favorite RAW CHEESE recipe...

    ****

    Cheddar Cheese Sauce

    Ingredients:

    1 red bell pepper
    1/2 c. pine nuts
    1 c. cashews
1 T. Bragg's Liquid Aminos (or more, to taste...)
    1/2 t. cayenne
1 t. sea salt (more to taste if desired... for this recipe, the saltier the yummier!)

Put all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and creamy. Serve with crackers or pour over zuccini "noodles" for a pasta dish!

    *****

Of course, it just dawned on me that you might not have access to a blender OR to raw nuts....

It is so easy, just soak handful of lentils in an empty nescafe jar or any big jar for 12 hours, then wash and drain 2-3 times a day. my room has no sunlight and they sprouted beautifully. It's a nice snack!

Nice work on the sprouting! You are braver than me...I haven't tried it yet. Some day :)
I have been loving persimmons lately! I just ate my last two yesterday...yum. Just thinking about them makes me want to go get more.
