Rawlight's Rawlife

or how I discover what it means to chose raw!

  1. One of my favorite recipes.

I love making Walnut Pate from Jennifer Cornbleet's Raw Food Made Easy. It's a good staple and I think because I substitue balsamic vinegar for tamari, it tastes just like tuna salad. I say that because I haven't had tuna since before 1987, so maybe my taster's a little off...!

Yesterday, I got a little adventurous and added things that are not in the original recipe and it made me think. The longer I've been into this lifestyle, the more I realize I've become more adventurous in

  2. Ooo, my Little Blog in the Rawosphere!

by on 03-22-2010 at 11:00 PM (Rawlight's Rawlife)
it's been a great while since I posted regularly on Rawfoodtalk. I moved mid December and have been getting used to my new area. I also made lots of changes in my personal life, which is one of the great benefits of moving! I've been very high raw through all of this and it's so easy as I live near Good to Go, a raw food restaurant and an awesome health food store, called Mother's Market in Huntington Beach.

I own my place and am loving the idea that I can do anything I want to it.

November 1, 2009 in Southern California: warm, oh so sunny and the first day that daylight savings has ended. What a refreshing way to start....the 30 Day Challenge! Yes, rawlight is at it again. Fresh from the Sunday farmer's market and after a morning juicing up a storm, I am happy to try, once again to go almost 100%. I say almost, because I haven't given up my one cup of coffee. I want to be honest and who knows, maybe that will fall by the wayside during this month. Really, due to blood pressure ...

  5. What Kind of Person do I Want to Be?

by on 07-10-2009 at 01:33 PM (Rawlight's Rawlife)
Talking percentages, the last few weeks I've been pretty half and half raw to cooked. As someone who has always used food for comfort, I allowed some personal issues to turn me into a wah wah poor me where is the comfort food, SAD eater.

But I look at all the Meetups and all the folks who are doing raw and I think, "those are the people I want to be like." And I want, truly to be able to call myself a rawfoodist without excuses. This is actually the first time I ever
