  1. Quantity of food - Eating Raw vs Cooked

    I was just munching on a raw cob of corn (which was surprisingly yum) and came up with a question, or two, ok, maybe three ...

    Why can you eat 4 cobs of cooked corn, but one cob of raw is sufficient and you don't really want anymore?

    I understand the concept of "whole/balanced food" but can the brain/cells register it that quickly???? Even if you are overweight ... isn't it true that the aborption of nutrients is slowed down ...

  2. 1st Restaurant experience was a Triumph!!

    Met up with my friends from teacher's college tonight for dinner a favorite restaurant we have always gone too. It went great! I ended up emailing head office telling them my situation (short and sweet of course) and they offered to do whatever they could to accomodate my "dining needs" - they also called the location I was going to make sure there would be no obstacles for me when I got there.     What a day this has been, and it is only 2:30pm!!!! Ok, so I said my weigh in is on Friday ... well ... oh heck, here's what happened!

    It is Monday so my workout was due for a change. But for hardcore cardio I needed some psyching up.   4. Keeping it simple

    This is day ... uhm ... I have no idea!! Perhaps, day 4 of eating raw. I tried a bit of it about half a year ago and it just didn't stick - obviously, because I did commit! This time I just started, no big warm up to it - just "Bam" - it worked a lot better than getting closer and closer to a "quite" date and then mourning over every morsel of my last cooked meal ... no dramatics this time, more of an excited feeling about what I will ...

  5. Uh-Oh, my 1st Restaurant Exper is in 2 days

    Tuesday - just 2 days away - I am going to be heading to a restaurant with friends from Teacher's College. We get together every so often. Thing is ... it is a pasta place and with my "new noshin' rules" that is a no-no.

    I have looked at the online menu and there is one option - Garden Salad. One thing I am thinking of doing is "pre-load". In other words, eat before I go and then when I am there I can enjoy the company and munch on that garden salad but not ...
