Hi. I just joined. I am about half raw now. I work out almost everyday. I am wondering what you have done to improve your running. It is my weak spot, too.
Has a raw diet helped your strength?
I am figuring out raw food for refueling. Do you use coconut water? Is the stuff in a package raw?
I have been reading Tim Van Orden. It is very interesting. I'm learning.

It is a fine month for RAW in Seattle.

Sadly, I don't think I'm going to the festival, but I may wake up tomorrow and tell the family they are on their own, I'll be gone until midnight.

I just found out that the Paul Nison tickets are now only $5 with no meal!!!

You're so fortunate to have such wonderful resources in your area! For me to get a raw dinner prepared by someone else, I need to travel 2.5 hours to either NYC or Philadelphia. I'm working with our local raw chef (yes...we do have one of those -- certified by Alissa, and she's great!) to get a potluck started. Here's to more people going raw! :)

the meeting was fantastic! they were really receptive to what I was saying, and we put a plan together to keep me more involved in their process.

nope Jen, I'm not under 120 yet. I'll definitely let you know when it happens. I have to get off my butt first - I ended up ditching on the running yesterday. I got too busy at work so I told myself I would go when I got home, but then didn't. I'll try again today.

Good luck with the meeting. It can't help but go well with that attitude.

How did the meeting go? It's amazing how quickly food becomes the comfort for emotional discomfort. I caught myself tonight going through a variety of different foods I wanted. Everytime, I shut one down and said no a new one popped in. lol! So, when I got home I had 2 apples. :)

Did you go under the 120 mark, you never shared or did I miss that?

    :)

You could go volunteer to get in for free and leave your wallet at home :)
(or take a set amount of cash, but no credit card)

I talked with Tom about it last time I was there. He had me convinced to come but didn't know how to add the ticket to the register. I told him I would go online and buy it but I'm having doubts about going alone, the long day, and how much money I would spend there. Just read Suzanne's email about volunteering some time to get in free. I'm going to call tomorrow and see what that would involve. I'm sure I would be kicking myself for missing it. Looks like a once in a great while opportunity.

If I go to the Bite I'll be sure and check in at the Thrive booth.

yep knitster, we went to Thrive. They have a new taco salad that was really good!

are you going to the event this Saturday at Raw Vegan Source? I think I'm going to be out of town, but if those plans fall through, I will try to go.

I'm going to be at the Bite of Seattle on Friday helping at the Thrive booth.

Indeed you are blessed that your husband shares your interests and is willing to do house cleaning!!! My hubby's idea of cleaning the house is scrubbing the sink with my nail brush. But he does change the vacumn cleaner bag and take out the garbage. :)

Did you go to Thrive? What yummy dish did you have?

Tomorrow I'm wearing an Amazonite and Aquamarine necklace to the Farmer's Market. Both stones aid the throat chakra which I'm hoping will help me open up and talk more easily with potential customers that stop by to look at my jewelry.

Amazonite soothes the nervous system, strengthens the heart and physical body, facilitates clearer vision of one's own harmful tendencies making them easier to release. Aquamarine calms nerves, reduces fluid retention, purifies the body, enhances clarity of mind, aids creative self-expression, and helps banish fears and phobias.

Do I believe all that? I don't know, but why not. I'm sure all those things come from within, but I need a little help bringing it out. If we think it, so it shall be. :)

I swear we have the same head. lol! I'm feeling discouraged myself. I had Heavy Mexican Food Twice this past week. Of course, no cheese or anything. Kept it Vegan. But, lots of fattening Guacamole. I love that stuff. So, I feel bloated and didn't work out either. I've missed 3 days. I have'nt blogged because, I'm embarrassed. Today, I've only had fruit, fruit smoothie, and a green juice. I'm so bloated I just can't stand it! I'm so enjoying reading your success. Thank you for sharing.

Today I'm doing something I was nervous about doing yesterday...started my fast! :) I hit a rough spot at lunch time, but I came and read my blog and saw your encouraging comment. Thank you so much!!! I enjoyed reading what you wrote here and found that I see myself in you! I need to be honest with myself also! I especially like how you're doing your fast: water/juice/smoothies/mono meals. That sounds like what I would like to do! ((((HUGS))))

    Thanks everyone!
The veggie smoothie was: about 12 oz of water, a handful of spinach, a handful of basil, 1 heirloom tomato, 1 small zucchini, 4 crimini mushrooms, 1/2 clove garlic, 1/2 shallot. I just blended it like a smoothie, but after tasting it decided it was actually a soup. It made a mason jar full, which became two big bowls of soup.

Most of the veggie soups/smoothies I found recipes for all had avocado. I'm trying not to eat them this week because they are a trigger food for me. I thought the zucchini & mushrooms would add a little creaminess, and it did. nothing like avo would, but still yummy!

Knitster, I'm doing a total of 21 days commitment. I have today & tomorrow (Thurs & Fri) left for smoothies. Then the next 4 days I will have a juice or smoothie in the morning, and a simple salad or mono meal in the afternoon. I'm trying to just eat two or three times a day rather than constantly snacking. The next 4 days after that I will have any combo of juice/smoothie/salad that I want - will just be staying simple/not gourmet. That will take me to my final day 21...not sure what that is going to be...maybe a day of juicing or mono meals. I dunno.

You are doing so well with your 12 day commitment program. Only one more day of smoothie feasting left now...? Are you making plans for breaking the fast or will you trust your body to continue making good decisions when the smoothie feast is over? I bet you do. You must be feeling very clean and light. :)

Good for you for taking yourself seriously enough to listen to you instead of the clock or some other voice that says you 'should' do this or that. Intellectually, I know that some days I find I am just not that hungry and some days ravenous, but I am not always as good about listening as you were yesterday. I hope I can improve on that.

Hey, could you give me the recipe of the veggie smoothie that you said was like soup? I am always on the look out for soup type recipes. Thx.
