Awesome Foods' Raw Nama Shoyu Onion Bread--
I wanted to see if I liked onion bread before I went to the time and trouble to make some. These have the same basic ingredients: onions, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, nama shoyu, olive oil, sesame seeds, parsley. I have to rate this bread on different aspects of it. The taste is excellent--oniony and rich. The texture is nice and chewy, BUT it is very oily. It leaves a film on my lips as though I had put on lip gloss! Kind of eew! It's so oily that ...

  2. Poor, poor pitiful me

I was congratulating myself this morning on being so even-tempered lately. Bad drivers, people who block the aisles of stores and walkways, when I'm clumsy and drop things, Mr.Liza's expressway driving--I've been dodging the usual temper triggers so gracefully! Until today....

    dum dum DUM!

    Setting the stage:

    1. Mr.Liza and I are listening to Eckhart Tolle's "The New Earth" on our work commute (2nd time through. I'm going to need a third!). ...

Posting quickly before I pop off to bed!

Mr.Liza and I shared some walnut taco meat and a great guacamole style salad.

My taco meat was excellent crumbled over some leftover dehydrator-marinated portabello strips. I didn't have enough mushrooms, so I also used a few sweet peppers. (Love those!) I put my plate in the dehydrator about 30 minutes to warm everything. Amazing how even the peppers taste sweeter from just getting slightly warm!

    His walnut ...

Ya'll remember my pitiful post about my cholesterol...you said it would be better and you were right! The nurse called today with my numbers from last week. Remember, this is after only 1 month raw, plus 6-week transition.

    Before, Jan 5, 08--full SAD

    LDL: 150 (s/b under 130)

  5. He Was A Happy Fish

by on 08-04-2008 at 03:25 PM (Emma-Liza's Journal)
One of the fish in my aquarium died today. I posted about it in the pets area here.

It was really sad, watching him struggle to the top and then sink to the bottom in exhaustion. His gills were going rapidly, like he was panting. I started to take him out and sequester him because I thought the other fish might start to eat him before he was dead (yes, that happens).

I had gone to get a cup and when I came back and was moving my lunch (that I couldn't finish because ...
