Good for you! Bagels are rough - I'm impressed :)
If you passed those up, you can pass anything else up too!!!

have you ever tried mono meals? I've never done it but it seems like your situation would be a perfect time for it.

oh my, I have such a split personality when it comes to food! One day I hope to get rid of the little devil and be left with only the angel.

good luck w/ the kitchen remodel! Can you put a bunch of water into jugs ahead of time? then you would have water for smoothies. you could also buy your produce now and wash everything ahead of time.

    I can completely relate!
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), even we we think no one is looking, they still can see/feel the aftermath! Even if my husband doesn't see me sneak and eat one of his cookies, he still has to deal with me being cranky later because I'm feeling guilty and bloated. I've been repeating this to myself: "I am taking responsibility. My actions directly affect the well-being of others."

Good luck! And remember - this time is different! Just because you had certain habits in the past, doesn't mean they need to continue. Plus, you now have added motivation of taking the best care of your future baby :)

Oh you are so welcome! We are here for each other, right? :)

I have been emotionally connected or disconnected to and with food since, I was 7 y/o. I decided then I wasn't going to be fat like my sister and keep my skinny legs. By 10 y/o I was in puberty and had my first bout with overeating. From then on it was see-saw between being Anorexia and Binger. Now it's a see-saw with RAW and SAD and Normal Eating vs. Binge Eating. Arrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

Together we can and will get better! I Believe!

Are you my Twin? lol! I too have sides to myself. The Healthy/Athletic side and SAD/Lazy side. ;)

Oh well, we are who we are and maybe that is actually more normal then we realize. ;)

You are having a Great Rawsome Day! I wish I liked mushrooms more. :)

Thanks! You are right and I can tell that you know EXACTLY what I am going through over here and just what I mean.
It is very emotional. We have such an emotional connection to food and that doesn't just go away just because you decide that you want to be healthy. I think that I have a hard time too because I am literally surrounded by it all the time, smelling it, preparing it, serving it and watching everyone else eat it. It is always here. So that makes it harder too. Maybe that is why it is so easy for me to fast. It becomes a non issue at that point.
Thanks for understanding and for your support.

Yep, That's what I relate to; "The Kid in the Candy Store" theology. It's funny though. I always wait til I"m alone or he is gone .... kinda like sneaking - ya know. But, the reality is - I still will feel guilty and awful because, I actually went against myself. I have chased my tail with this one for over 20 years now. You'd think I'd learn. FUnny thing with Addictions is that they are not just physical but, they are also, mental and emotional so, mentally it will decieve me into thinking it's a good thing and I'm getting away with something but, emotionally I still pay the price of guilt and remorse and physically I get sick and tired. Aaaaaaarrrrrgh!

Such a rollercoaster. I wonder if I'll ever just get off. Ha!

:) Until then I aint given up and I don't think you are either ;)

Well I am not raw for him. He has seen me through so much and has been really supportive of everything. He has seen me go on and off raw for almost five years now and every time he supports me. He is great really. It really is like the child in the candy store analogy. I know that I have serious food issues. It is hard to explain although I think that probably many of you understand. It is hard to always be different.

Maybe because if I eat bad when he is not around I don't have to feel guilty about it. No one is watching me eat bad. Its almost like I can get away with it. Does that make sense. I don't know. I am still raw, I have not faltered. He is not leaving until Wednesday. I am fighting over here, I really am.

I can so relate to you. Here's something to ask yourself though. Are you RAW for him and feel like you have to or are you RAW for YOU fo a way of Life? That is what I am thinking about. I'm RAW for a way of LIFe not a short term weightloss diet. And why do we always want to Hurt Ourselves? arrgh!

You'll be fine............We are supporting ya!

Come up with at least one raw recipe that will be your special "I miss my hubby" treat. Maybe a new one for every night! Give yourself things to look forward to that are as far away as SAD.

Check in with us! You *can* do this.

oh girrrl. think of SAD as a really toxic boyfriend. think of the dead decaying poison on a plate as the dead decaying poison that it is.

(i read a "detox from your ex" book that recommends whenever one wants him back you visualize him as sypllitic, crapping, vomiting pus. just completely gross yourself out on him. I think the principle with SAD is probably the same.)

    be accountable to us!

    sending you strength lady!

Thank you so much Rawchic! Thats where I heard it. Such a pretty name.

The midwife I found is actually here. There are lots of them here and this one is not a homebirth midwife, just one at the hospital. But since I will not be delivering here it doesn't really matter. I will have to find another midwife, a home birth midwife, once we move. I found out that it is in fact illegal for a midwife to attend a pregnant woman for a home birth in Illinois. So they have underground midwives who risk prosecution to assist women at their homes in childbirth. I will need to locate one of them to hire when we move.

Ava is the name of Contessa20's cousin's baby :)

I wonder how long it will take your jaw to recover. A blended salad/soup sounds like a good idea.

Yay for finding a real estate agent and a mid wife!!! Things are definitely starting to turn in your favor. Good for you for sticking through the rough days :)

Oh I'm so excited for you! That's awesome that things are finally starting to move along. Hopefully you'll find a place close to all the things you need to be a successful rawbie! And the possibility of a greenhouse :::drools::: that is just perfect! I would love that!!!!!
