  1. Green Smoothie Commitment

by on 09-10-2008 at 12:18 AM (Metamorphosis)
It's a brand new forum! This is going to take some getting used to. Right now it feels like I'm driving someone else's car. Not quite sure how to operate in this new environment. I'm sure the insecurity will pass soon enough. I'm also sure I'll be making a few goofs while learning. Already have.

    Food for Today
Breakfast: a colossal peach (think James and the Giant Peach)
Lunch: Green Smoothie; 1/4 pineapple, 1 small banana, 2 kale leaves, 4 handfuls spinach, ...

  2. Dinner at Red Robin

by on 08-03-2008 at 03:51 PM (Metamorphosis)
Can you tell where I'm sitting?

Took my daughter and friends to dinner at Red Robin during the "Twilight" masquerade and book release party on Friday night. Went in knowing I would not eat. My plan was to get them a couple appetizers to share, but as I looked at the menu I started having ideas about ordering for myself. How ridiculous! Put down the menu and told them to ...

  3. Foods to Beat the Heat

Had a few new things to eat today. Breakfast was the rest of my peach crumble. Kept well. Looked and tasted the same as it did yesterday.

It was scorching hot today. Felt like having a big bowl of greens for lunch. Chopped a variety of veges to put on it but that just didn't seem appealing. I ate the greens by themselves with a little basic olive oil/lemon dressing. Ate the chopped up veges on the side.

No desire for dinner. Wanted something sweet. Started ...

  4. Farmer's Market Day

by on 06-28-2008 at 03:17 AM (Metamorphosis)

What a great day! Friday is market day. The veges are from Full Circle Farm. The kales, chard, and beets are for juicing. The purple radishes are to crunch on while I'm making the juice. Also got broccoli and some greens I can never remember the name of, (bottom right), mizura, or something, use for salads. The picture was taken right after I chopped off ends of stems, and put it all in the bowl ...

  5. Eat Organic

by on 06-21-2008 at 12:11 AM (Metamorphosis)
Went to the Farmer's Market today. Fortunately my favorite organic vendor was in a shady spot. Still, it was hot today. Everything looked a little wilted. Got the usual, 2 kinds of kale, and bokchoy. He suggested cutting the ends off the kale and putting the stems in water for an hour, then wrap ends in wet paper towels, and put in fridge. It really worked! Plumped it up! The lettuce was looking wilted. He went to his truck and came back with a fresh head, just picked this morning. Filled ...
