  1. Random Thoughts

Well, I'm still enjoying my electricity. I really missed it when it was off!

I'm dreading the winter when the produce isn't as good. I love my fresh fruit and produce, but will I enjoy a cold breakfast when the kitchen is chilly? It should be an interesting transition.

Mack came in this morning covered in burrs! I tried to brush him out but only got some of them. His long hair gets him in so much trouble!

  2. Got the Power!

It was nice to have lights on last night for the first time since Sunday night. Hooray for the electricity!

I have hit a milestone--I no longer like the thought of cooked corn. The raw is better now. So that's something. I think I'm getting into raw one bite at a time.

Big problem is bingeing. I get so hungry that I start to eat and eat. Where does willpower come from?

I've been very tired lately, but maybe it's from not sleeping well during the ...

  3. Still No Power

Yesterday I got a hot shower in the women's locker room at school. My friend the coach locked me in there so I'd have privacy.

    Anyway, ...

  4. Another Day Without Power

So now they are saying it will be Thursday, or possibly Sunday (a full week) before we get electricity in our neighborhood. Fortunately, the weather was nice and cool last night, good for sleeping without a fan.

I'm going to have to take a cold shower at home or use the women's locker room in the school gym sometime today. Otherwise I could get way too grungy.

    This, too, shall pass.

The cats are dealing with it just fine. Power? Who needs power? ...

  5. Hurricane Ike

Well, Ike rolled through Ohio last night. The wind started picking up about 5:30 p.m. By 6, our power was out. By 6:30, the neighbor's pine tree had crashed into the road.

Our power is still out (at home--not at work, fortunately) and will be out until 9 tonight. I think fruits and veggies will be fine, but I'll be defrosting my freezer and refilling ice cube trays tonight.

It was kind of scary listening to the storm roll through. I was wondering if we were getting ...
