Tracey; The important thing is that you are back!!!
Many people are emotional eaters...myself included. You have to remember that when you eat out of anger, you are empowering that emotion. Some people find a replacement behavior...like taking a walk or punching a wall...just kidding.. but you need to come up with something that will help you get past those frustrating times. Another important aspect to sticking with any goal is to talk nicely to yourself. One affirmation that has helped me during my short time with the raw life style is "I am more powerful than I know." You can come up with your own nice message to yourself strength.
Rewarding yourself for your achievements is also helpful. I think Alissa recommends keeping a journal. This is a place to not only record your food and liquid intake, but your emotions that go along with the journey. You probably know all of this!

Forgive yourself and move on. Life is too short to be kicking yourself for little bloops.
    Hope this helps.
    In Peace,
    Juli

    What is Pr-ac?

I am going to start on the 30 days raw thread March 1st...it seems like a fairly active spot. Maybe you can join us? Be careful of the diving in thing...it causes flip-flopping in some people. If that's you, a wading in approach might be better. ...just a thought from someone who has dove in and out and in and out and gained 50 lbs of fat doing it. :S

What's not to love? I have been really wanting to taste sapote. Have not been able to locate them yet.
We need to figure out a cross country food swap, lol.
I would actually prefer shopping once per week, honestly.

Wow. I go weekly. Or stop during the week when I run out. I m going to have to try 2 weeks worth.

The farmers market loves it when I show up. I take my kids everyweekend. Last week she gave me a black sipote to try. It was good like a desert fruit. I think you would like it DurianTigger.

Our local store you can not even get dried beans. The very basics only. But I can get ripe bananas there for like 19 cents/pound. And I got avocados for 2/$1 in Falcon, here they are $1.25 each. Huge difference. We normally combine our errands, dentist, visiting friends, etc. but because of the storm coming, I made a special trip to stock up as our fridge was getting nearly empty. That sort of sucked, but I am soooo glad I did it as I think this snow won't be melting until next week and I am grateful to not have to drive on ice. I am good to go for another two weeks. The store thanked me for my business, lol. It was like $360 in produce, lol.

bananas, bananas, bananas.... They help keep ya going. I get down just thinking about TOM!! I bet after it passes you will lose a lot of water weight and it will be ok. Back away from the scale!!!!! Snacking on my durian right now. They had whole frozen ones but they are a pain to open and I can not eat an entire one at once. I found some frozen packaged durian and it tastes really good. Would like to have a fresh one some day. Gotta to go an Asian market for these.

I found some packaged and frozen today, durian that is. I bought THREE packages. bhahahahahahahaha! My son said he is going to his room and will back out in a month when the smell goes away. heeehee. Made it back traveling just ahead of the storm. Nice.

Ive never tried them I haven't even seen one for sale here yet. Superbowl. Guacamole, salsa, flax crackers, celery, creative dips. Fruits. I think youll be fine.

So are you liking the higher percentage of fruit? There is no way I could get all my calories in without fruit. I would have to graze non-stop, lol. I love the taste testing weekends with the kids. How fun! Feb Challenge is going to be just that....11th is International Chocolate/Tea/Coffee Tasting event we are taking friends to. Valentines Day, Super Bowl, Daytona, and Academy Awards - all things we do our own little dinner theater for while we watch them. I am going to have to be creative, heh. Wonder if dh will let me bring another Durian into the house? The family has banned them. heeehee

Just wanted to say the SAME EXACT THING happened to me during my last two juice fasts -- I got my period like 10 DAYS early!!!!!!

And more recently when I did this little 3-day juice fast, it started over a week early AGAIN!

I thought it was menopause. Which, in my case, it still might be. Anyhow just wanted you to know it happened to me, too!

Do you know about Flylady.com? That's a very helpful, positive-energy site for dealing with organizing/de-cluttering a house (and the emotional issues surrounding it). I LOVE it, check it out!

Hahahhahahaha -- yeah, I'm finally as old as my son's always said I am!

I so understand the organization thing! We just moved and trying to move in and sort and cull and organize gets overwhelming! If your kitchen seems too much, break it down to a drawer or cabinet a day. Simple lets the mind breathe!

Yeah I love Oj When I did my fast I bought it from the Orange grove fresh unpasturized. I just had to strain it Yummy in green juice and carrot/orange/ginger is soo good.

Serious adjustments but I think 3 full months is the magic #. Im glad you are getting things done around your house. :)

Good morning! Now you went and gave me oj cravings. Guess that will be my first nutrition for the day. :) And I totally forgot about applesauce. Yeah, that, too. LOL. Perhaps I will follow your menu today. :) Organization is quite the chore. And difficult to maintain when the rest of the family REFUSES to participate in it. Grrrrr. Being home these past 3 weeks has been a Godsend for sure. I had so much energy from juicing I completely cleaned the kitchen....cupboards and all. We cleaned out both refrigerators before juicing so we could move cooked stuff to the second one and keep all produce in the main one. DH hates it, but I used get those rubbermaid type drawers and put them in the fridge to organize it. It works great. He has this mental thing about needing plastic bags though so that as you use it, the bag gets smaller. Who cares? When it is that way it gets lost and tossed. I think he has an actual fear of organization, lol. He is in for a surprise, because with the mountain of produce we have with him now participating....I need to find some way to organize efficiently for us. And because he is not able to recognize different types of greens by sight, they need to be labeled for him.
I bet that between TOM and adjusting to higher amounts of fruits in your diet that your body is just adjusting right now. I had a couple of days when juicing that all I wanted to do all day was sleep. My TOM was supposed to be here at that time as well according to my MYDAYS app on my phone, lol. Never came. Not sad about it either. :)
Ok, just so you know, I ran to the kitchen and juiced 6 oranges. Cheers!

Qwerty, That is like so totally awesome. For Sure. LOL.

I must have some greens each day juice or salad to feel balanced. I am having alot of energy but I have to eat so much. Im blowing my notions out the window. Forget about sugar as long as its raw Im eating it.
  20. tiggerbounce's Avatar
Sounds like you are doing great!Love your energy! @qwerty, the 80's?? So you must be near ancient like me then? LOL And I think right now grapefruit, oranges, mangos, and pomegranites are actually in season. Apples are pretty good. Of course, there is always the trusty bananas. I feel so guilty eating them, but ...sigh. Google banana republic. I think that I naturally do not combine fruits for some reason. Always have been that way and even when little did not like mixed fruit salads and would not touch them if they had any dressings poured over them. I picked out each fruit separately and sorted them. But I sorted my M&Ms before eating them, too, so maybe I just have a case of OCD. Veggies though...those I mix all the time. I might suggest mixing pineapple with something though. Tonight I ate half of one and my mouth is burnt, lol.
