there's a pizza at a raw food restaurant on the island (Vancouver Island - Cafe Bliss) and ohhhhhhhhhh myyyyy it does taste like real pizza... and actually even better. I've never had such a gorgeous crust or toppings before.

mmmmmmm and they have a recipe book Mystic!!!

they turned out ok. Bf says they are nicer than the ones I have been buying but I'm less sure. The wild rice turned out really well. I have a hankering for mushroom burgers and of course raw pizza though I think I have to stop thinking about it as pizza because I know that whilst it will taste very good, it won't taste like pizza proper. I'm distantly related to the chap who is credited with having invented the sandwich. Bread products featured heavily in my up bringing. In my family there is very little we would consider unsuitable for slapping between two pieces of bread and similarly on top of pizzas.

I hate when that happens!!!! At my professional kitchen, I have a note on my dehydrator saying please leave on. Try that! It works for me! I also have one saying do not open, and I tape it shut. :)

Someone switched it off! grrr. Back on now and I have nestled three tubs with wild rice into a tray too. hope they don't slow the dehydration of the kale down. They are covered tubs.

River level was down on lunchtime level when we got back from work but the rain has started up again. Low tide is at 8:15 so once it starts coming in again the level will definitely go up again. It's supposed to be dry tomorrow. I hope it is :)

That will work at weekends. Less in the week as it goes out during the day. Wild rice is one of my favourite of the heavier foods.

perhaps put it near your wood burning stove?

In the summer when the weather is warm the wild rice soaks/sprouts much quicker!

I don't have that option at home. I may try it when I get to finally plug in my D at work.

When I soak wild rice I place it in a jar with water and put a lid on it.

I lay it in my dehydrator overnight.

    And it sprouts with ease...

I think the fishy-fish are probably whizzing past to quickly anyway. The water is not at the top of the bank yet. I think it will be close when the rain we have today hits full blast. I'm expecting flooding further down stream and hoping we are high enough to stay dry.
