Lol! I have tried sooo many times to hula hoop and I fail horribly. I need hooping lessons. I almost bought one that had lights on it and when you would hoop with it, it would light up. It was pretty cool.

((((((HUGS))))))))) It'll all work out. Be kind to your self and get outside. Sunshine will help perk you up. =)

I find running really helps me anxiety...so I know what you mean about needing to let it out. :)

I self medicated the lows with caffeine before - and then I got addicted to diet coke!

I've had a good cry and slammed a few doors! I should get a punch bag I suppose. It has to be let out or I feel worse and worse and feeling suicidal is not good!!!

I am reading "The Art of Happiness" and that has helped a bit. I must get back into the habit of writing a Haiku every morning. That helps too.

It's all in the management and I don't want to take prescription drugs; they work short term but not long term.

I think recognizimg it gives it less power...I don't know about bi-polar but for me happiness seems to be a choice...misery is easy they say.

Been there, done that! I don't know exactly what assisted me in changing and bringing it (me) all together. Wish I did. I think it was a combination of qigong, food program and daily appreciations.

Sleep if you need to my friend. Sometime our minds just need to rest. *big hugs*

Woo Hoo! I just got into soups after my feast. What I did was to leave the veggies out for a couple of minutes so they wouldn't be so cold and added water that was 105 degrees. Not HOT soup but 'warm' soup. With an avocado and plantain. YUMMM!

    Happy UNcooking! *hugs*

    I agree.

I think though that a lot of raw recipes included things which at the time, appeared to be raw or it was assumed as raw and only after years has evidence come to light about the non-rawness of foods.

I haven't read Alissa's latest recipe book so I don't know if she has shifted her view on Braggs for example.
  13. Bananna's Avatar
well that is a good and inspiring regimen. :) ...no bragg's are not raw, most 'raw nuts' are not really, etc. You know the deal, but it's considered raw acceptable. Like it's even IN Alissa's recipes. ...that's all I'm saying. Your program though, yes, that Is healthier than having cooked veggies, but so much more is included in raw half the time that it's a bit of a misnomer, I think, to say that being all raw is healthier than not being. You see what I mean?
  14. MysticTree's Avatar
goodness but there is some unhealthy raw stuff out there - incidentally Braggs isn't raw and it's quite a nasty process involved to make it.

I don't have a dehydrator so I don't have any flax crackers, raw breads, raw chips etc.

I really just have fruits and veg - raw
a few nuts if I can find them raw
EVOO, cider vinegar and seasonings for dressings
    sprouted rice, seeds etc

    That's about it!

Most days I am 100% raw .... occasionally I drop to 99% if I have any nuts that aren't raw or dried spices that aren't raw. It's no big deal at that level for me.

Yess saying 'maybe raw isnt for you' ...definately is weird. For me personally....its less s out being all raw and more about raw fruit and veggies. Realisitically by the 'all raw' yardstick I could eat a whack of flax crackers dipped in bragg's all day and be considered eating the most healthiest diet in the world, lol.
Yes ofcourse one wouldnt do that exclusively for very long but my point is that there are lots of things raw vegan that arent healthy and it is actually easy to have them on such regular rotation that you arent eating very many fruits and veggies at all! ....Ive done it and not on purpose, just liked those foods and wasn't getting anywhere.

I realize all raw is best...But also realize we need to consider a raw food pyramid if you will. ...I truly believe that a vegan cooked spaghetti sauce chalk full of veggies...or a sweet potato, is healthier than some concoctions I've eaten raw.

But I like it here...lol. So I stay and tend to hang in the blogging area and stay out of those discussions now...the conflict is too negative and that is the worst for yiur health so I really try and avoid those threads amap. :)

I feel though that if someone comes here asking for help then they should expect that we'll recommend all raw and the existing members should but expect this too but so many say things like "well, maybe raw isn't for you" when someone stumbles or has cravings etc. This seems an odd thing to say on a forum that is supposed to support 100% raw

Obviously some people just come here to stir things. I'd rather have link spammers here than forum trolls.

As to meat ... I certainly agree that it shouldn't be discussed in a pro-eating way on here but I do sometimes find it hard to post about an aspect of life without mentioning meat in a totally euphemistic way. I don't like euphemisms much!

exactly the same I think ... just a different spelling.

I just pick it, dust off any mud and shove it on the plate! Mine's still very young so I'm using thinnings in salads and it's lovely.

hmmm...never heard of it. Is it like bok choy? How do you prepare it?
  19. Bananna's Avatar
but yes, the threads/board should be a safe place here, where you don't have to defend being all raw...but seems a lot of debate as to what's really raw or not. ...but that no longer interests me at all.
  20. Bananna's Avatar
oh there are lots more compatible sites really...raw food rehab being one, they'll take anyone at any stage over there...although 'more and more raw' would be the general goal, I doubt they'd be putting up with debates on raw meat or not, for example, lol.
