  1. IT WORKED!

    YAY!

I got an email from my dad today, saying how after having read my letter about green smoothies, and watched the youtube videos I linked of Victoria Boutenko talking about green smoothies, her family and their story, he just kept watching more and more videos about raw food and got hooked!

I knew there was something in him that would pay attention!

So he said that on his way home form work he went to the food store and stacked up on veggies and fruit ...

  2. Quantum leap in food

Raw food requires more learning than I imagined. I mean, when you're a child your parents have pretty much figured out food in the house depending on their budget. A low income means alot of 'no honey we can't afford that' and a higher income means 'sure let's have that'.

But when you're changing your idea of food entirely, you're not only having to deal with changing your taste for food and how you prepare your food, but also your food finances.

  3. Salt

Lat night I started developing a ravenous craving for my old staple, rice cooked in vegetable stock. I wondered what on earth could rice (brown) and vegetable stock have to have become addictive? Or what could brown rice have that my body needs which isn't getting already?

  4. Planting a seed

I sent mum and dad a long email saying why mum hates vegetables, that there was a scientific reason for it.

I explained what Victoria Boutenko says, and went on to talk about green smoothies. Mum loves meat, cheese and bread. It's awful, she's got all sorts of health complaints plus stress and a closet depression.

I love my mother and try to do what I can but she's so stuck in her ways and won't really listen, just sees everything I say as something that happens in ...

  5. A Feast

I feel that I should really start listening to my body, and stop going by what I read so much.

For instance, I generally loved garlic and onion, cooked. Raw however these are quite strong, they make my eyes water and when I eat more than a little bit in my food, I get so dehydrated it's almost painful. - That can't be right. Clearly, I'm not listening to my body when I eat it regardless because I read here and there that garlic is so good for you, etc.

    I'm adding these ...
