I just did an interesting experiment. I listened to my special CD on stress reduction and took my blood pressure again after each time. The first time my BP was down from 183/101. The second reading was 163/87 and the third time it was 155/83! I had this CD before I had the stroke, but did not have a blood pressure cuff to test how well it worked. I had not used the CD since probably a few months before the stroke and never knew of any real drop in my blood pressure.

That was really fun to read about your travels! I've never been so far north.
I recently saw a golden eagle here. It is unusual for them to be this far southeast. We do have bald eagles in Tennessee, but never see them in the urban area where I live.

Wonderful progress - releasing 46 lbs! And how reassured you must feel with such good results from your bloodwork. I can see you know how to plan ahead making good raw food choices such as the ones you made for your long trip. I hope you will continue to improve your health by taking good care of yourself.:)

Dear northerstar - I should have read your blog a week ago - maybe it would have made me think twice about going off track and eating SAD food. You are such an inspiration to me and all of us here. Congratulations on ridding yourself of at least 44 lbs.! I am so looking forward to hearing how your trip next month goes. I am cheering you on to meet your goal. xxxooo

Northernstar... I am sooo sorry about the stroke - I haven't been here and I didnot know. I am so proud of you though for all of the effort and fiestyness you are putting into your healing! and actually - Salmon -wild caught especially is very good for you (or so I've read) Eat intuitively for your healing - and you must've need that corn - so it's good that you enjoyed it when you had it! blessings to you - and you are in my prayers ;) (((hugs)))

I can relate b/c for awhile with my bad knees I was having a terrible time trying to get up off the toilet! I hope you will be able to find a solution. It must be very frustrating to be so dependent on others. I wasn't aware of your stroke--very sorry that happened. I hope your raw diet will help you recover quickly and completely. It sounds as though you are doing all the right things, food-wise. Good luck!

Wow! Congratulations on releasing 44 pounds! That's fantastic! Interesting about the bear, though. I don't think I'd be happy with a bear in my yard.

My beautiful daughter sometimes wishes she weren't beautiful for similar reasons. I have even hesitated to call her "beautiful" too. I still do however, because to me, she is so beautiful inside as well. You are too, northernstar. Your enthusiasm and excitement over your progress is encouraging to me as I am beginning to change my life with raw food. Wish I had more time to read your blog. Maybe a bit later, I will.:)

It's wonderful to see that all your hard work is paying off! You are also growing in your confidence -- you are in charge of your body now - no one else.... Many of us have been thru these horrors and try to hide behind layers of stuff... but know that you have a RIGHT to blossom and become the very BEST YOU THAT YOU CAN BE! ... no one can take that from you... Own your power Goddess... RAWk on! blessings!;)

I just wanted to say that I can totally TOTALLY relate. I wish you well in this journey...and hopefully taking care of yourself will heal some of the past. (((hugs))) Sometimes this health journey includes emotional healing too.

It's just an affirmation, that even if I am eating healthy -- I may still end up putting on some weight -- but the important thing is - continue to eat healthy - eat raw and trust the journey and not to stress about the weight ... cuz bottom line -- it's about my HEALTH! Excellent word! ;)
