  1. I finally hit 50 pounds gone!

    It has taken me a while, but when I finally stepped on the scale today, it showed that I have finally discarded 50 unwanted pounds! I hadn't stepped on the scales in over two months!

    Good Afternoon!

    Today is December 31, 2008, and today is a very cold day! It is just noon and the temperature is -15 degrees which is warmer (?) by six degrees from earlier. The city’s temperature is lower by several degrees. I am going by my indoor/outdoor thermometer in the house for our temperatures. We have been in a cold snap for the past several days which is not uncommon for this time of year.

  3. Rememberings

    A few days ago, Vern and I attended a reception for a dear friend of mine who died on June 12th. She died of cirrhosis of the liver, the one that some no-drinkers get! We had been very good friends for many years since meeting while on the Board for the Food Bank many years ago.

    It was amazing how much we thought the same about many issues. I remember remarking that we did not even have to talk to know what the other's opinion would be!!!
