  1. September 6: What a Day!

Wowza. I'm too tired to write much tonight. I took the boys for pictures, ran errands, did some work, and then left with DH for a parent orientation at DS1's new preschool. He starts preschool on Monday! I am so excited for him. Totally sad for me, but very excited for him. He's going to love it!!

Anyway, food today was terrible. No raw options to be had anywhere. I still stayed 100%, though. Unfortunately, today for the first time since being raw my stomach really hurt. ...

  2. September 5: Did I Mention it's Hot?

Did I already mention it's hot where I live? I did? In every bog post so far? Really? Hmmmm. Well, for those who are new to my neck of the blogging world: IT'S REALLY FRICKIN' HOT WHERE I LIVE. The kind of hot where the air-conditioner is set to 78 and it turns on at 6:00am. The kind of hot where you lack energy to do anything other than complain about the weather. The kind of hot where you talk about it nonstop and irritate strangers with your constant whining. ;)

    Today ...

  3. September 4: The Dreaded Day 4

Day 4 is upon me and it is as hard as any other day 4 I've had. Cravings, bad mood, tired--pretty much the usual detox. It doesn't help that my house happens to sit on the surface of the sun. It is so hot I have no energy to cook or eat. I hear rumors that it will be cooler tomorrow. One can only hope!

I made Matt Amsden's Mock Tuna today. Mock recipes are interesting; you can tell how a person liked their real-now-mock "whatever" by the ingredients. Matt, apparently, ...

  4. September 3: The Party's Over

Well, I'm back! The salad went over well. No one there was exactly a vegetable person, so I think they thought it tasted good--for a salad. Actually several people commented on how fresh it tasted. To be honest, I doubt many of them have ever had fresh corn, let alone raw corn!

I'll be honest. It was tough at times. They had chips--my personal albatross since birth. I didn't have one. I stared at them and kept my hands in my pockets, but I didn't have one.

  5. September 3: Day 3 & a Party

Late this morning some friends called with plans for an impromptu Labor Day party. Not just any friends. The friends who hate all vegetables and think raw food is lunacy. The Menu, for said party?

    Carne Asada
    Rice
    Beans
    Tortillas
    Bagged Caesar Salad
    Fruit Salad

Now, even if I wasn't raw I wouldn't touch that Caesar salad with a 10 foot pole. As a rule, I don't do bottled dressings, and I certainly don't do packet dressings. I've ...
