Isn't raw wonderful? Hmmm...flaxseed and ginger in a nutmilk smoothie...why didn't I think of that. Seems there is always something new to try. Thanks.

She's just saying those things to make herself feel better for not being as healthy as you. That's just her way of justifying her own bad eating. It's one thing to eat twinkies in moderation - but there is no reason someone should eat apples in moderation. Prove her wrong by not giving up in a week!

I'm glad you're such a crazy high horsed fanatic - hehehehheeeee!!! ;) ah well samariah - I feel sorry for your friend - to live in mediocrity is no place to be. Personally I celebrate your desire to be the BEST YOU that you can be -- I CELEBRATE the fact that you stretch your potential... NEVER GIVE UP!! RAWk on!

"Everything in moderation" is a good rule for someone's who's been bingeing and can't find any other way to even start to limit herself. But after awhile, you come to where you are, which is that to get amazing results, you are willing to do amazing things. I don't discuss this much with my friends for fear of alienating them. And anyway, I don't want my relationships to be about food. Except here on this site. :)

I struggled with this, too, but I've found an amazing job encouraging walking and biking for transportation. There are absolutely careers that combine your passions, and a liberal arts major is great start for them! Knowing how to think critically and write well are key skills. If you haven't already, check out this resource: www.idealist.org for their job postings. It might take some time to find that perfect job, but use whatever opportunities come your way to hone the skills you'll need.

btw... don't do like I did -- work in an industry where I was not all that happy or fulfilled for over 25 years... I am 51 and just now beginning to pursue my dream job... which frankly doesn't seem like work at all! I'm having so much fun planning, preparing and developing my business... You can do it too... REACH FOR YOUR DREAMS SAMARIAH!!! it will be well worth it!

Its actually very possible to do both -- I have a full time job - while I am expanding and developing my raw business... so - perhaps you could still go to school part-time if you really wanted to -- and look into becoming a certified Chef and teacher! Alissa gives you all the knowledge and the tools to make it happen if you really want to pursue it! blessings on your journey!

The vision you painted of your future very beautiful! I never thought I would end up with my career headed into the raw food teacher/chef area! But I realized it was my passion so now I am pursuing it. I'm also going to be growing much of my own organic garden. I am teaching local classes on healthy eating and nutrition -- and having a blast! I became a Certified Living on Live Foods Chef thru Alissa Cohen's certification program... and I love it!

Glad your back. I think it's best not to stress over eating, that can cause more problems. Glad your happy where you are, I'm sure you know what works best for you.

Congrats on having success with your acne, I know that can be very frustrating to deal with.
