  1. Raw Chili

YUM!!! I found this chili recipe online. It called for cooked red beans, but I substituted sprouted lentils to make it oh-so-rawalicious AND, it is ridiculously quick and easy to make once you got the lentils sprouted (which only took a day!). MMmmmm...

    Raw Chili

2 ¼ cups chopped fresh tomatoes
¼ cup soaked sun dried tomatoes (just covered and soaked for an hour)

  2. Happy Days and Tasty Treats

What an amazing day My dad came over to visit on his lunch break today, then ended up calling in to work for the rest of the day just to spend time with me! He is so proud of me for all of the healthy choices I have been making for myself, especially for quitting smoking (I'm proud of me for that one, too :) )

I stepped on a scale for the first time in a couple of days, and much to my surprise, another 5 lbs gone! That puts me at 140! My average weight over the past several ...

  3. One Week To Go!

I am only about at week out from finishing my 30 day challenge! I can't believe it 100% raw and going strong!

I spent the last weekend at a festival in Eugene and had probably the most difficult time so far with my cravings. It's the festival food, man...It is so joined in my mind, festival season and the food that goes with it. For the first time since starting this whole experiment, I *seriously* considered cheating...the thought kept running through my mind that if I just ...

  4. Almond Milk!

Well, I finally got around to making my own almond milk for the first time! It is so freaking easy and delicious! Until recently I had viewed such things as making my own milk and sprouting as too difficult/time consuming. Well, I made some sprouted hummus last week, and now I've given the milk a shot and I was so wrong. It is easy and so worth it. I can't wait to make some creamy smoothies with almond milk, and I'm about to look up some recipes for raw cereal in the morning. Yessss, my life ...

  5. Fighting The Cravings

I've found a couple of things that really help with my cravings. Mainly, nuts and raw honey. It doesn't even really matter so much what the craving is for, if I grab a bag of raw cashews or a big spoon of raw honey, I instantly feel better. I think it is a calorie intake thing. I'm not really hungry for anything in particular when the craving strikes, my mind just automatically fixates on what it is used to...chips, sandwiches, etc. But if I quickly load up on a high calorie food, nuts or honey, ...
