  1. Day 20 - cholesterol dropped 14 points!

    Well, I got my blood work back today - my prolactin is still high (45) but my cholesterol dropped from 153 to 139. :) Awesome.

    I told the nurse (who called w/ the results) that I gave up meat and she said "ALL meat???" with this shocked voice. Funny.

    It's amazing how we all think we need meat to survive or be healthy.

    I feel good today - woke up at 6:15 (alarm goes off at 6:45) and felt rested and ready to get up. ;) I'm glad it's Friday, ...

  2. Day 19 - re-energized

    Today was a great day. I felt awake and happy and hungry for raw food. I ate really well and everything just felt good. My daughter's eczema is really clearing up (not related to my raw diet, just excited about it) and I'm so happy about that. We've really been through it with her and it was ALL food related! It's always amazing to me how little we think about what we put in our bodies (and by we I mean Americans).

  3. Day 18 - a visit to the OB/GYN

    Well, it was nice to weigh in yesterday, but I'm actually up a few lbs from last week b/c I have been eating too much - raw mostly but the extra stuff (cereal, cookies etc) is getting me... I was 141 w/ jeans and shirt on, so probably about 139 w/out - still up 2 lbs. But, that's ok...

    He took blood work - CBC, cholesterol and prolactin (my nemesis). I am waiting for the call on those. The last time my cholesterol was tested, I was eating meat and fast food (it's been about ...

  4. Day 17 - LARA Bars!!!

    Today is going well. grocery shopped today $118 for the week, not bad I guess. I got 3 lara bars and ate one while putting the stuff away. Yum! I had a big salad for lunch w/ all my faves in there, and breakfast was a strawberry smoothie without greens b/c I was out. And, I forgot to get more! I have salad greens but they're a bit bitter for smoothies - I prefer spinach and I'll have to run back out when it stops raining... or I'll have my hubby do it. :) My honey-DO.

  5. Day 16 - raw has slipped into oblivion

    Ok, so I'm at maybe 50% raw now. I need to stop thinking of food as cheating or bad - that starts a quick downward spiral for me and food takes control of my life. This morning I had a bowl of honey nut O's (organic) and rice milk and then spent the next half hour beating myself up about it. So, it's time to stop that! It's not raw but it's also not 4 krispy kremes either. ;)

    I did have a fab raw snack (my favorite - you guessed it - cashews and dates) and a delicious HUGE salad ...
