  1. Freshtopia and Coconut Dreams...

    I just made my own version of Melissa Mango's Banana Coconut Cream Pie. Basically, I made vanilla cream and spread it over broken up bananas, raspberries and blackberries in a pie plate. Put it in the freezer for two hours and eat up. I'm going to top it with ground mixed nuts and shredded coconut.

    The best thing is that I can eat the whole freakin' pie if I want to and it will be all raw goodness!

  2. On and off and on again...

    I suspect that, when people disappear from the boards for a brief time, its because they're back eating SAD... at least, that's how its been in my case for the past few days. My best friend is in town, so I just HAD to eat a bean and cheese burrito. And I HAD to get a Starbucks on the way down to see her.... And all the while I'm saying I'll start again tomorrow. I'll start again tomorrow.

  3. Raw Muesli/Trail Mix

    My own invention, inspired by Karen Knowler's "Raw Muesli" recipe I found on YouTube:

    Handful of cashews
    Handful of walnuts, chopped
    Handful of sunflower seeds
    Handful of pumpkin seeds
    Handful of almonds, chopped
    Chopped mixed dried fruit
    Handful goji berries

    Mix together. Drizzle raw virgin coconut oil (approx 1-2 tablespoons). Sprinkle on some pumpkin pie spice. Toss.

  4. Too many fudge balls

    The rest of the day ended up with my having eaten many fudge balls, too many strips of fruit leather, one sweet and salty cookie, a delicious and filling salad, 2 cups of coffee with cream (Grumpf!), and a small helping of Spanish rice. I've done better on the water.

    I ate poorly today because I was bored... well, busy, but bored. Will do better tomorrow. I don't feel bad about it though. This was just one day in my raw journey. Next week is looking better for being 100% on most ...

  5. Non-Accidental Bread

    Today's food so far:

    Smoothie (Almond milk, peach, strawberry)

    Dried fruit leather pieces

    Heirloom tomato/basil/olive oil salad

    1/2 orange

    I feel like I'm eating too much fruit. its certainly the easiest "grab and go" food I have...

    Oh yes, the non-accidental bread: I took a teeny piece of whole wheat sourdough to mop up the leftover olive oil and tomato juice and it tasted GOOD!
