thanks beppa! The flax crackers came out niiiiiice! Not as crispy as I wanted them, but good ( they have banana & pumpkin in it). Now the carrot -walnut burgers are almost done!

PS. I put our taco meat/burgers in and burgers for 1-6 hours, which will warm them thru...I prefer that to cold out of the fridge. And it makes kind of a firmer texture which I prefer to the gooey pate texture. Try half and half and see what you like best?! ( :

Sounds like you are having a ball with the new magic box! WOOT! There is sort of a learning curve. I put a little evoo & maple syrup, salt, pepper & cinnamon on my sweet tater chips and they crisp up pretty good. But I also leave them on for a LONG time. Humidity is a huge factor and I uncook at 115 otherwise things get nasty here in FL. The quicker you can flip & spackle, the quicker stuff dries. Hope that helps.

Sounds like you are having fun w/d! I have ye old snackmaster...do not use a lot but when I do....groan.....I stuff myself! Yeah, do not set it to low, things can mold for certain. Keep having fun! Sounds exciting!

I've had things mold too.... it's gross. Remember, the timing doesn't have to be perfect, if it did we'd all be in trouble!

course we are dealing with alot of moisture here ... but I wouldn't decrease the temp overnight. (try it different ways and see what works best!) I'm so glad you're having fun!! RAWK ON!

oooo... so much fun!! I put my flax cracker in and leave them on at 108 to 110 over night -- Actually lets say I put them in at 6pm - I will flip them at about 9:30 or 10pm... they may be still very wet and gooey - I use just flip it (carefully) then spackel them back together. I will leave the temp on at 109 to 110 and they're often still not done in the AM... I've had them in the d for sometimes over 12 hours!

the chips chewy- soak them in cold water w/a couple spoons vinegar before D-ing. i would make the burgers then keep them in the fridge or freezer & reheat when needed... if they have flax in them they could get icky as a pate. don't turn the D too low- spoilage & mold happens. xoxoxo -snow

My screens fit within the black trays - but they are not snug and they do slide a bit. If it's WITHIN the black trays then I'm sure they're fine -- but if they don't fit and are sticking above the black tray - I would trim them SLIGHTLY... soooo happy for you ! you're gunna have so much fun!!

Im thinking Star maybe I would have added more spices and avocado -- it was a little watery -- not soupy enough for me.. The yam bisque really had a soupy thickness that I enjoyed... the broccoli I think I needed to liquefy it more in the blender and not the food processor..... I will try it again, though!
