The recipe calls for soaked cashews, and 1 cup of Walnuts (chopped). Does this mean that you don't soak the Walnuts?? I did anyways... but wanted to know for future reference.

Also it calls for 1 cup of pitted Dates... and I bought enough of the Medjool ones, but I'm wondering if they need to be soaked as well?? If so, how long??

And lastly it calls for flaxseed meal. How does one make the seeds into meal?

hehehe... guess I sound pretty hapless huh? :p

I always soak nuts, even if the recipe does not call for it. It might not turn out as firm as had you not soaked, but oh well, just keep it in the fridge or freezer a tad longer.

Any dates will work, but good that you got medjool ones-they are some of the yummiest! Sometimes, the dates are soft enough that they do not need soaking, but if they seem sort of hard, I would recommend soaking em for a little while-like 10 minutes would probably be fine.

For flaxseed meal, you will need a coffee grinder or some type of grinder. If you do not have a grinder of some sort and youre all set to make the fudge, I would reccomend going out and buying some all ready ground flax. They usually sell it at the health food store labeled "flaxseed meal."

Good luck with the fudge, im sure it will turn out yummy!

For future reference, you don't need to soak walnuts. You do need to rinse them though because they are dirty!! Let us know how your fudge was! :p Yum!
