Hi Willow! Welcome!
I am a member of many raw discussion groups and this one is by far the best - and the only one I really post to. I have found lots of friendly and helpful people here.
Tell us about yourself!

thanks all for the welcomes!
To tell you all a little about me - I am married with two sons aged 4 and 7 and have been vegetarian for quite a few years and am now "near vegan" working to be mostly raw as it seems to be the healthiest option. When I juice breakfast and lunch and then eat a cooked meal for dinner I really notice how different I feel and it is not good. SO anyway this place seems very helpful with my quest, and to know that there are other people raw or wanting to include more raw food into their diet.

Mid-coast. . . . I was born a Mainiac - from Rockland. Don't miss the winters or the food selection they had when I was last there. I hear it is the "Village" of the coast now - I suppose Camden and Cushing got too pricey!?

Hey Mainers....i fell off the face of the earth for a little while....
I'm near Rockland...I find the selection better than where I was from in WI so it's all relative I suppose. In the summer there are tons of farmers markets and organic produce to choose from. Winter is tougher to say the least but the prices don't get too prohibitive. Having never been to the Village myself I couldn't say what Rockland is becoming but it ain't the Village I"m sure....altho it is better in terms of economy than it was five/ten years ago even. Camden is not bad at all (summer being the exception) but will always be pricey ...and Cushing???...Cushing is barely on the map and still a small fishing community if that, so maybe your getting that mixed up with something else....
Well, Mainers....trying to start raw this week...we'll see how it goes!

All I know is that the Cushing I knew is long gone. To me it seems very built up. The dirt roads are paved. The house I lived in has been torn down and replaced with three. Also the people I knew of there were very comfortable to say the least. You know I would not be writing this if I didn't miss it some! (OK alot!) Now that it is built up more and chain supermarkets have moved in there are more options foodwise. The negatives of life there have left me. . . . except for the cold and snow . . . . which maybe I could acclimate to. Do people there still stop their cars if you even look like you might be thinking of crossing the street?
