Hi, I'm fairly new to the group.....been reading a lot, but not posting. I have been attempting raw for about 2-3 weeks. Thought I had been doing fairly well until I read about the Maranatha butters and nuts not being raw like they say they are, etc. I'm going to check into Glaser Farms and I like the jars SamuelWilson is using. I want to try making my own butters, but is everyone soaking their nuts or seeds before making their butters? Soaking then dehydrating?

Soaking then dehydrating leads to another question. I have a list with soaking times, but I have no idea about how long to dehydrate them afterwards. I remember reading that dehydrating them really brings out the flavor. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks bunches in advance.

Hi! I dehydrate all almonds 24 hours, walnuts (after seriously rinsing) for several hours, brazil nuts 24 hours. And I haven't had the guts to soak my fresh from my dad's garden pecans. Just seems sacreligious.

Read today's post about nut butter. I just posted about soaking my almonds before making butter.

Good luck!
