Hi!! Although I have been a member of this group for over a year now. I am officially starting the 30 day challenge today. There are many reasons. One being that DH is not fully supportive of the raw lifestyle and he does the grocery shopping. However over the last year I have incorporated more raw veggies and fruit, cut red meat out, and eat chicken about twice a month and have lost 60 pounds. Welllllllllllllllllllll, now my DH is in America working for the next 4 months and I have control of the food shopping. :D So I would love to be a totally different person when he gets back and be a living example that this lifestyle works. I KNOW IT DOES!!!!! Not only would I love to have more energy and look younger. I would love to have lost a significant amount of weight before DH returns. Could you all give me some things that worked for you; Foods that you have eaten that you notice boost your metabolism or helped you to lose weight quickly? I welcome all advice.

What a great time to focus on yourself. How great that you are taking this time to improve your health and better yourself. I just know your DH will be proud of you. Who knows? You may even get him thinking about a raw lifestyle for himself!? ;)
As a suggestion for metabolism boosting, I did a 3-day juice fast just last week. Had lots of energy (with some to spare!) and it really seemed to kick my metabolism in gear. I am still juicing one time a day. I really enjoy the experience.
I hope this helps.

I'm new to the raw- only 6 weeks in. But I think the most powerful argument is leading by example. You're so smart to seize this time for yourself and your health. Already, I have friends and acquaintances asking me what I'm doing new and asking for resources for more information on raw. I've already lent out the few raw books I have to 5 different people. So, have faith. Give this gift to yourself. And have some fun with it.
Congratulations and Good luck.

luinla...
I think you are absolutely correct! You must lead by example. For years I have felt that eating RAW is the right path for everyone to take. I have been talking the talk, but not walking the walk. I have talked about how it makes sense to my mom and family. And they just say "yeah... I know I should eat more fruits and veggies" but I don't wanna.
So rather than harp on about things... I've decided just to do the best I can for me. And hopefully the results will show themselves soon... and then they can start to ask what I am doing that seems to be working so well.... and then I can re-inform them again... but this time with their ears open!!!
Good luck salafyforlife for your 30 day challenge!!!!!
Blessings,
Sandra
