i have a vitamix and love it. a friend wants to buy a blender now and asked me which is better. the bledtec has a more powerful motor, but does that really matter, practically speaking?
any opinions that would help her to decide would be helpful -- thanks!

thanks arky and revvell -- i usually remember to try a search first, but this time i slipped. i was able to get the info i need, although it turns out that there are about equal numbers singing the praises of both blenders. so my friend will just have to see which features are most important to her.

Yeah, your appraisal of the 'evidence' sounds about right, I'm afraid! :D
To be honest, she won't get a bad machine, whichever one she chooses, so look at warranty duration, cost of spare parts (e.g. jug/carafe), ease of use, degree of control, hell, even styling if that matters to her (personally, that is, by far, a secondary consideration to me, but it means a lot to some trendy types ;)).
