You can make your own "Quick Soaker" for soaking almonds, sesame seeds, etc.. If you have a vacuum sealer, mason jar and jar sealer, then you have everything you need.
In a vacuum, water penetrates deeper and more quickly, reducing your soak time. I performed a test on some almonds I soaked over night in a jar. I removed the lid and fitted it with the jar sealer and applied vacuum. It was interesting to note that the almonds still had trapped pockets of air, even after soaking over night. I have been using this technique and it really helps. By ensuring that each and every almond is thoroughly hydrated it reduces the amount of pulp left over after straining the water/almond mixture from your Vita-Mix to make raw mylk. Therefore, it makes your milk creamier and it is more efficient, resulting in less waste.
