Well, I have had a rough couple of days and I am suffering physically w/fibromyalgia pains. I ate some sad foods & I can't eat any...I really have an immediate reaction..Which is why I am writing...What makes us do this to ourselves?

I feel sooooo good on Raw..full of energy/etc...my reaction to Raw food is w/in hours...so why do I slip?

I figured out a pattern...through my journaling ...it is restaurants...so I need to tackle that & I have some ideas.

My question to all of you is this...Yes, I have been Raw for 30 out of 42 days..which is about 72 % of the time..the 30 days were 100%..so I guess that is a PLUS.. :)

Has anyone who is long -term Raw found that they had this when they started? I did 2 weeks last Summer 100% then yo-yo'd all summer.

I need to break this pattern.

I have read a ton...both books & on this & other sites...What the Heck is wrong w/me that I keep yo-yoing & then suffer so much?

any suggestions are welcome. sorry this is so long.

thanks... :)
Lana

PS. Am I not looking at the "positive changes" at this moment because I have had a rough couple of days ???

Lana, you sound human to me. There is not one perfect person on earth, not one. When I first went 100% raw my body would not accept anything else. The few times I tried to eat cooked I became very ill immediately. That went on for more than 6 mo. Then my body started accepting cooked again. Of course cooked food still causes ill effects, but not immediate violent sickness like at first.

I'm having problems right now because someone I love very much seems to be sabotaging me. At times I feel the only way to stay raw is to avoid this person. Can't do that. Will have to strengthen my determination to be healthy somehow.

Your 30 days 100% raw does count! Just keep working on the problem. You can look back and say you finally got rid of cooked food. With determination you will.

Yup. I would be raw for like two weeks, then would backslide a day or so, then go back to 100%. . . and so on.

Then I started backsliding for real and was "out" for a couple of months.

Its normal.

It sounds like you are doing the right things by journaling, brainstorming, figuring out when you slip up.

Doe & Swingbolder,
Thanks so much for the encouraging words. I guess I have to look at the good days...figure out what I did right...Handle the "restaurant" problems & just try & make things more simple. :)

I know I am not alone in this problem. I also know that yo-yoing is very hard on the body...not to mention the mind. :)
