I was wondering if anyone has tried body flex? I've read a lot of great reviews and was thinking about trying it. I would love to hear from anyone who has tried it. Thanks

oh, I bought this a few years ago. It would probably be good for a rawfooder, but for someone on cooked food, I think they would need a more strenous exercise program to really lose any weight or get in good shape. It's a good "beginners" program. She says in her own words (can't remember where I heard it-I read it (does she have a book too?) or she said it in her video, that she doesn't eat after 4 pm daily-so the thing with her being so thin isn't *just* about this exercise that she teaches. For a raw foodist, though, it could be a nice, simple exercise program. I prefer more strenous stuff-I do the firm and other weight/cardio dvd, powerwalk and yoga. I really like knowing I"m working hard.

Thanks Thersaann, I would like to start out slow. I have tae bo and the firm but they kick my but. I can't even make it half way through. Maybe I'll try body flex it's better then no exercise at all.

JazzyCD,
Why don't you try just medium speed walking just to get going and then move on to Body Flex or Pilates or Tae Bo. It can get you started with relative ease and leave you ready for more as you build up.

yes, I just started getting back in shape and I've found that if I just do SOMETHING, like just doing whatever I can of the workout dvds, and power walking as long as I can, and stretching, consistently-whatever I can, in just three weeks I built up my strength to do the whole firm workouts, without or with very low weights. Eventually I'll be able to use heavier weights. WHen I first started I could only do about 15 minutes of those workouts and then feel wiped out.

Just be patient-one thing that occured to me is that I am not in a competition-that working out CONSISTENTLY, at WHATEVER level I'm able to, is the most important thing. CONSISTENCY, not duration or ability to lift weights, etc, is what matters, cause sooner than you can believe you will build up strength. It's the truth!!

I had great results with Body flex. I found it at a garage sale for $1. I didn't think it would work and that she was funny looking. But, it is the only exercise program I ever recieved results from.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Lotuseater, Theresaann and JoJo. I can't walk where I live because there is to much traffice. I live on a very busy road plus it's way to cold outside for me. we just got 16 inches of snow here last week. I need to find something to do indoors for the winter. I think I may try body flex.

JoJo, do you still use Body flex? Can you tell me how many inches you lost or how many lbs? Thanks

I got a DVD by Tamilee (called I want that body)... she does the buns of steel etc. I really like it and I like that I can feel it the next day. I also like that the video works 3 sections-- buns, abs and arms. Each section has 2 levels and each level is 15 minutes. If I only have a short amount of time I can do 15 minutes or if I have longer I can do 2 sections. On Sunday I do 1 abs and 1 buns-- 30 minutes total. My husband has done this with me and even he feels it the next day (he works out 5-6 days a week consistently so if he feels it, that is amazing). I do free weights and the elliptical during the week but I enjoy this DVD the most.

RIght now I am working out heavier since we are going on vacation and I have to put on a bathing suit

jazzy, as far as indoor easier workouts, body flex would be good. also, you could try the Walk Away The Pounds dvd's.

I have both. I haven't used the bodyflex in a long time. i should get it out and give it a try again.

When I was recuperating from brain surgery, that was one of the only things I could do as far as exercise without doing too much. I liked doing it. I never measure myself or anything, though. I just knew I was making positive changes because of how I felt.

I lost 60 lbs doing bodyflex years ago. I think it was in 1998. I have gained it back :( But it worked. I didnt' change my diet much just cut out butter and pop and kept my fat grams at 22 for the day.

Jazzycd,

I lost 21 inches in 3 months. Yes, I still do it. It is easy and it has worked. I will not own a scale but I did go down at least one pants size. My waist and stomach are small and flat. That has never happened before.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone, I think I'm going to order the body flex. I will let everyone know if it works for me.I'm glad to hear from people who have tried it and I'm very glad to hear that it worked for you. Do you feel that you breath better? Thanks for the other work out suggestions I will keep them in mind.

Yes, I've done Body Flex and it works. Of course, I have a BAD habit of getting to where I feel good and then stopping. UGH. But, spring is coming and I've been saying I have to start Body Flex in the mornings. I also do Callanetics and sometimes do the Body Flex breathing with some stomach and hip exercises from Callanetics. Both work. These are the only exercises I've found that will make my tummy flatter.

And here is a link to the Body Flex Support board. It helps also. :) http://pub159.ezboard.com/fbodyflexsupportgroupbodyflexsupport

I have both her tapes, about the only thing it has helped me with is flexibility. I figure it is on the same calibur with a modified yoga. Judy

Thanks all, I got my body flex and also bought her 2 older tapes from Amazon.com for a dollar. The older tapes looks like you would see more results then the new ones where you sit in the chair. Thanks to everyone who took the time to write how it worked for them. I can't wait to get started.
