Almond cheese & raw cheese

Although I do not eat dairy I just wanted to post this to show that Raw Living is taking off and there are becoming more raw products on the market. Although these products are not perfectly raw and vegan I thought maybe people may be interested in knowing that increasingly there are products for us raw foodists.

At whole foods, I found almond cheese and as well, raw cheese. Interesting.

I was just at whole foods and scooted past the cheese section very quickly because of the stench! Blech! Is the almond cheese in the cheese section?

Interesting, it would be nice to have something like that especially if you are on the run, but want something filling. Just dash in to WF's grab a collard, a tomato maybe some sprouts and the ALMOND CHEESE! presto - thanks for the info :p

Yes the almond cheese is in the cheese section. They have mozzerella, cheddar, jalapeno and garlic & herb.

Hi,

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but I believe the "almond cheese" you are talking about is #1 not raw, and #2 not vegan, because it contains casein, a derivative of milk protein. I know, years ago I got excited when I saw it at the HFS, but upon reading the ingredients, I discovered that it is not vegan. And it is definitely cooked before being fermented, like regular cheese.

But we can make our own raw almond cheese!

I knew it was too good to be true. I guess it is nice to know there is an effort being made to cater to raw foodists needs as imperfect as some things are at this point.
