I Took the challenge of a bet with misslinda and swishtn, that if the the sea hawks lost the superbowl I'd do a 5 day juice fast. So Sea Hawks lost, and I started my juice fast on friday the 10th - day 1. Today's the 5th day. I've lost 4 lbs so far and I've only bm twice. Still feel real good. Other than a running nose on sunday but it cleared up. And three cracked tips of my fingers, ( maybe not getting enough water or oils?).
I have'nt experienced any real detox. So I'm going to continue my juice fast for another 5 days and see how it goes with any more detox. I know my body got some old junk in it for all the years I eat bad.

Cool beans!

OOPS! I had a smoothie today........I forgot Path!!!!!!!! I will revert to juices tomorrow and add another day.

Yeah, the cracked fingers are form dehydration usually by the fifth day of fasting is when the body is 80% toxins. Do you do detox baths?

juice fast day five
lips today chaped/ right hand one finger tip cracked and ouchy, left hand one finger the same.

interesting note: usually this time of year all my fingers would be dry and cracked near edges of finger nail and skin. This first time it's not

I do the natural brush exfoliation of the skin. once a day, prior to the shower.

breakfast : 1 organic apple/ 1 organic kiwi/ 1 mango = 12 oz of juice :)
spring water in between
Lunch: dandelion stalk and leaves/ sugarsnaps/2 organic carrots/ cabbage/ 1 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil = 8 oz

mid afternoon snack of mango juice = 4oz

Dinner was interesting, I went out to eat with some friends of mine at the cheeseburger palace. They all had the SAD ITEMS and I had grapefruit juice, ( fresh squeezed) and water and lemons,(5- 1/4 slices) squeezed into the water.

I've drunk a gallon of water today easily.
Went number one alot - no bm?

I woke up this morning feeling great. Have lots of energy :)
went down one more pound
had 1 bm.

Had 8 oz sw.

have'nt juiced yet.

Last night when I went out with some friends, one when I got out of the vehicle I became really light headed and dizzy.

looking forward to a great day :)

Path, take it easy even if you do feel alright.

Detox baths are great to add circulation and drawing out toxins.

In case you are interested in doing a detox bath..........personally, I use epsom salts,mustard see powder is a powerful detoxifier, and essential oils.

Go easy on the workouts cuz the blood pressure lowers on fasting...dont want to see you pass out etc-seriously

actually best suggestion is not to workout. rest and do airy walks --breathing and allow the body to put all it's energy towards cleansing,healing and repairing.

PLEASE don't hurt yourself while fasting !!!!!!!!!

I've had about 40 oz of spring water today

breakfast - mango/ orange juiced 8 oz

lunch - I juiced dandelion stalk and leaves/1 cucumber/2 organic carrots/4or 5 brussel sprouts. 12 oz

Dinner - sugarsnaps/ cabbage/danelion stalks and leaves 12 oz

I took your advice and didn't work out today other than quickly running upthe stairs about 20 times today to got the kitchen.

I felt a little nausa/ like I was going to throw up, but it passed after an hour or so. I have 6 fingers cracked at the tips and painful, even worse now trying to type :)
Had some runny mucus couple times today. Right hand gets cold for some reason. Left hand warm. After I had my dinner about an 30 to 45 minutes later my right hand warmed up - weird.

I had about 8 oz of water this morning
I had a lot of energy today :)
I did a leg work out squats - lounges, combo/calfs/leg extensions
that was about it.
had papaya juice and water mix 60/40 for breakfast and lunch

cabbage/dandelion/ organic carrots/ garlic clove for dinner
I put a cinnamon stick or two in my jug of spring water.
Had a couple of business meeting to attend to today, I felt great today no dizziness :)

day #8 fri 2-17-06
couldn't post last night so here:

I drank more water today than juices
I had papya juice,( had to do extra straining for this this fruits pulp) I mixed it with 50% spring water.

For dinner had 8 oz glass of my good ole dadelion stalks and leaves/ organic cabbage/ organic carrots/ garlic clove -( eventual I'll get tired of this mixture, just hasn't happened yet :) )

I was able to chest and arm workout - had alot of energy

Did exfoliation before shower, at night before bed - twice a day.

It seems for some reason, during this fast that my right hand gets icy cold, as if my blood is not circulating over there? Anybody have any suggestion?

Yes ma'am - Today I got up laaaate :) , so I was not hungry for a while, had to go take nephew to basket ball game. just grabbed some oranje juice. That lasted for a good 5 hours :)

Though I'm getting kinda hungry right now typing :rolleyes:
Today it's cold as %#@$ here and windy, so I feel really colder because of this fast :o
Been drinking 20 oz of spring water today.
Proably just do some stretching. and exfolitation tonight.
Have you done any home enema during your fast, to help eliminate bowls?

we're only in the late 30's here for temp! it's been extremely windy and ice cold but i managed to walk 3 miles in pain! :)

the december fast I did, i used a home enema (lemon and bentonite)and i really think it did me more harm than good. my body shunned the salt water flush after using it twice.

some people can hande it and others can go without. this time, i was able to go with out any kind of emliminator.........i'll wait for my bowels to self EXIT when I increase my food intake. Although, my adding juices, has invigorated my colon to expel.........:p

Like I said I've been feelin extra cold during this fast,(like an old granny) - weird.
Today was in the 19's with 15 mph windshield. Supposed to get down to 7 degs tonight and with 10 - 15 mph windchill - bbbbbbbuuuurrrrrr

Have you felt any better since adding some more juices to your intake today?

ya know Path, I have been sensing that I am going thru some real deep detox of my ovaries and kidneys............I had been feeling "flu" like and sure enough today I got the sign. The detox started from my feet and hands and all worked towards the center. Overall, achy and icky but for the better.

I hate that flu ish feeling :mad: , but once it's out, it's such a relief. So I'm hoping that this feeling that I've had for the last 3 hours will come out quickly, I do't have any of the achy and icky and chilles when you touch anything metal - just the stomach binding and throat pre barf stages :eek:

Do you have any snow up there?

For me when I get to the point that I feel like I'm going chuck up - my heart begans to race and my throat muscle's get that outside swollen feeling and my stomach feels like it's trying to message itself.
Today i've just had some oj for lunch and some around 4pm then just drink sw rest of the day. Until tonight Iwas trying to get a project done, and started to get bloating feelin and burps and hunger pains so I stopped around 8:44 - or 9:10? some time and went and juices some dandelion/ organic cabbage/ organic carrots = 16 oz. and drink that for about an 30min. Did the clean stuff, while cleaning up kept feelin worse and worse. Even right now still feel like I might have dash into the bathroom :eek:

This is my first and it won't be my last 2 week juice fast. Thanks misslinda for the challenge :) and the support.
I've help my body do some healing and cleaning, plus I've lost 8lbs. this will help me with my goal for California. I still have 4 to 5 days recovery back to solid foods. I'm looking forward to try some of those recipes I've seen on the food area. Everytime I read those post I start drooling.
Today breakfast: orange juice - 16oz
lunch - cabbage/ dandelion/ organic carrots
dinner the same plus garlic clove
bunch of water in between

This morning weighed in and lost total of 9 lbs from my ten day juice fast :D

Breakfast - mango and oj juice with organic maca powder, before my workout

I did a hard chest and arms workout, why? That's good question for some reason I had a brain fart, thinking that I just hop back onto the full energy wagon and it would be okay.
The juice and some pulp gave me an energy burst.
I did curls multiple sets
bench multiples
incline bench multiples
decline bench multiples
triceps multiples
Push downs multiple
preacher curls "
stand up curls "

Then it hit me, like a ton bricks -- I got really shaky, fast heart rate,( no dizziness) hard to catch breath, felt terrible :eek: . Drank some water - nothing, sucked a 1/2 teaspoon of raw dark honey, began to feel a little better, made 2 oranges - juiced them with some hemp seed powder -- the about 5 minutes later felt alot better :)

I assumed that I had enough food in me before my workout - nope!
That just wore me out. I had to take a mid day hour 1/2 nap.

Felt great later on, I WON'T DO THAT AGAIN.
dinner orange and sw into blender blended drink all good. :)

Felt pretty good today untill lunch time. Then since then felt nausea the rest of the day :eek:

breakfast - mango and a orange - juiced. Then blended in 1/2 teaspoon of oraganic maca
snacked on the pulp from breakfast juicer
lunch - sweet onions, (leeks)/ 3 organic celery stalks/ 1 tomato/ and some kale - these tasted really good.
My lunch stuffed me full.
the rest of the day I drank two 32oz container's of lemon squeezed water.

Day # 3 recovery
Had fuji apple and strawberry and a pineapple core - juiced it and added some organic maca powder for breakfast

I've been drinking spring water and lemons squeezed in it.
first bm in recovery mode - good thing.
being feeling nausea since about 4pm :eek:
mid lunch had kale/ celery/tomato/sweet onions, - my pulp from yesterday - I whiped it it the food pressor to a pudding texture. Could only eat half of it.

dinner some pulp from my breakfast.
that's it for today :)

I used some leeks(Really sweet onions) - their really sweet - not harsh tasting.
the pulp was sotra dry so I put a tomato in it and put it into the food processor ntil it was a pudding substance. It proably made 6 to 8 oz, but I could only eat half of it.

Today Day #4 of my recovery -
Just had 8 oz of warm sw with lemons - just was not hungry.

lunch -
I had a mango/ 2 strawberries/ and half of a organic banana,( but you know how you wait till the banana has turned brown, I froze them, then thawed them in the fridge over night.) Took it and just squeeze it out of it's skin. Put all that into a blinder on liquify - it made 12oz.
And I drank that felt okay for first hour - then felt nausea again/ mucous in throat/ slight head buzz
had a BM felt little better, then nausea came back and is still feeling so as I type this in - can't till the nasty feeling passes.

Path, i'm sorry you are still having the nausea. Toxins still flutter so have you tried simplifying your transition foods. Like just an apple or just a banana. That way you can key in on what fruits or veggies is making you feel better vs feel naseauted. :)

HHHHMMMMM.....I first felt it when I stated drinking sw with lemons juice and pulp?...I'll have to back track to try and pin point it, along with just using one item at a time. I wander too if it's my intake amount being to much to soon?

This sounds pretty good.
After my lunch I had couple bits of a fruit salad that was pulp, but I just didn't feel like eating still felt sick/ detoxy rest of the day :eek:
Went out for a walk and to goto the woods - wore myself out.
came back and took a nap,
Have not eaten at all. I 'll eat on friday.

Continuation from this morning:

for breakfast ! fuji apple,(tasty)
1 cup of sw
teaspoon of raw dark honey
put all of it into a blender - No nauseous feeling :D
went to work at 10am ate nothing till14:20 I was starving :eek:

While driving home had a kiwi and some sw. - 8 oz and raw honey stick
still felt good no nauseous feeling. at 15:29

- lips are chaped
-skin is not dry

dinner soaked organic rasins in s.w. ate them - no sick feeling.

had a late night work out chest and arms - felt little weak - blender togather soaked organic raisins and 1 cup of s.w. 15 grams of hemp protein powder
no nausesous feeling.

I found out what was making me nausesous:
Last night I finally recieved Alissa's book, and upon reading some of it today, found a chart about what fruits not to mix togather and vegetables as well. Some of my mixes were making me sick. Especially coming off a juice fast - Thankyou Alissa :D

since he doesn't understand everthing about raw~ it's kinda frustrating at times with him. He helped me loose around 200lbs using a great system - sorta vegetarain/ with chicken - turkey - and fish as protein along with muscle/ body building protein products. I've been sharing with him about RAW lifestyle. But certain things he's not buying into because he knows certain ways that work. He thinks I'm going the wrong way. I lost an additional 9 lbs doing this last fast - and he thinks I'm ti skinny and that my body is eating my muscles and that i'm not getting enough protein. I gave him lots of info on protein, but his still stuburn in his own point of view - oh well :rolleyes:
He keeps kinda bugging me coz I'm kinda week still from the fast. I can only do half weight workouts, ( that way I won't pass out). I told him why I did the juice fast and how I'm going to do the 30 day challenge - but he's not seeing it yet :rolleyes:

We've been best friends since summer before highschool~ we have this spiritual connection. He's mom and dad were my second parents. About 2 years after high school I moved away and didn't see him for about 12 years when we got back togather he looked the same as he did when I last saw him but I had gained 150lbs plus. And I tried other methods to lose weight but they or I didn't work. So he hooked me up with his program and it worked. I'll have to pm you some more details.

This morning not really hungry.
so far I've only had 1 cup of organic rasins soaked in bowl of spring water.
Then I drank the grapery water.
last night was dreaming about what? I don't know but woke up with muscle cramps in my calfs :eek:
My body is lacking potassium or magnesism or?

I need to prep some meals for later today. I'll be helping my Father hang insulation - FUN - :rolleyes:

continued of day #6,

I made some pineapple and spring water,(s.w.), mix about 16 oz

and a bag of organic celery.

for mid dya snack I had the celery - felt good

I had it for dinner to. Both of mid day snack and dinner just ate it and chewed it throughly.

later on I had the pineapple juice. felt great no sick feeling :D

This morining I had 2 mangoes in the blender for breakfast mixed with s.w.
it made 16 oz. I could only drink 8 oz plus some 4 oz of s.w.

No muscle cramps last night.

pffftt.... Just ignore this joker, misslinda, he's my trainer. Because of my influence and what i've been learning, he has been changing he's entire family. He's cut out a lot of chemical crap that in the foods in his home. He's been incorperating more raw dishes in the food processor into his and he's family meals. And out of all his family's hair shampoos and toothpaste etc.....
He just gives me a hard time about my juice fast and recovery time. He does not understand it all yet.

Today I had for lunch my first kale and celery salad with Alissa's salad dressing on page 475. And after eating eat my stomach felt great!!! I did some excercising in the woods and I had no passing out or dizziness. I did not over do it either. Then for dinner had last 8 oz of pineapple juice.

did you juice the rind and skin also? I was told by the HFS that it has great enzymes for the pancres!

Yep he's biggest hang up is the protein thing. I showed him all the protein info, and showed him this guy whos a RAW body builder and blah - blah - blah about protein. I even told him - dude when you cook that tilapia fish that has 12 grams of protein in it, after you cook it those 12 grams go down to 4 to 5 grams! He's been using organic maca powder that has protien in it and hemp seed powder also. He's still learning about RAW stuff like all of us. He used to a vegetarian at one time. So he's not totally new to some of these things.

The skin/ out side of a pineapple is kinda tough with it's prickly's. But I did do as much of the rind as possible. I don't have one of those cool jack la lane juicers that you can stick the whole thing into the juicer and out come a beautiful glass of juice.

You otta ask him about he's screen name - tell him to goto the thread you made up about avatars and explain it.
The guy knows a ton of info on how to work out properly - way more then I do. He's a fitness/ body building/ power lifter trainer and nutrientionist, he's been doing it for 18 plus years. He's just new to RAW. :)

I'm done!! I'm off my recovery from juice fasting :D

Started on the 2/10/06 made it thru 2/28/06 - 19 days total lost 10 lbs
Iwent through some detox, and kick started my body for much better health!

for lunch had a mango anf banana smoothie

for dinner had kale salad all good.

ready for my 30 day spring cleaning goal.

Thanks misslinda for all your advice and support :D

I've already bought my food for next week. :D

Path!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found this for good times sake. I think I had finished 40-43 days of fasting (30+ opn my own and the rest with you)............perhaps this time I could try 60 days :D

For thenew one, I m more than likely going to do 21 days b/c I want the brain healing................40 days would be sacred ---wouldn't it?
